An aircraft light, particularly for emitting light onto a runway during takeoff or landing and/or onto the ground during taxi, comprises a light source (), a reflector (), a support frame () for the reflector (), and an adjustable bearing arrangement () including at least two joints () pivotably supporting the reflector (). The adjustable bearing arrangement () comprises at least one extendable and retractable adjustment element () guided at the support frame () along a movement axis (). At least one of the two joints () is formed as a ball-type joint. The ball-type joint (), to compensate for a change of the distance (A,A') between the at least two joints () of the bearing arrangement () upon movement of the adjustment elements () for tilting the reflector (), slidably engages the reflector substantially orthogonal to the movement axis () of the adjustment element.

Aircraft light

This device addresses the treatment of femoral neck trauma which includes basilar, mid-cervical and sub-cap fractures. The assembly has a lag screw assembly, side plate, compression screw and cortical screw, which are implantable. A syringe adaptor instrument delivers ortho-biologic material to the fracture site through the lag screw assembly. The lag screw assembly utilizes a cannulated screw with external threads and deployable tangs to anchor into the femoral head and is implanted in such a manner as to have the lag screw threads and tangs located on the opposite side of the fracture from the side plate. The distal shaft of the lag screw interfaces with the side plate in a manner which allows axial translation only. To deliver ortho-biologic material to the fracture site, the syringe adaptor instrument is inserted into the cannulated lag screw prior to the installation of the compression screw and the material is forced through it and out exit holes located circumferentially around the lag screw between the fracture site and the deployable tangs.

Femoral neck compression screw system with ortho-biologic material delivery capability

A marine vessel, typically a power boat, lifting system includes a remotely operated transmitter module, a receiver module, a level sensing module, a motor control module, and motors are integrated to automatically position a cradle to the desired position relative to the waterline of the marine vessel. The lifting system is initialized by a signal input, a button pushed and released, from either the remote transmitter or the motor control module to begin movement of the lifting cradle to a desired position. The received signal initiates the motors, and a light to indicate energized motors through a visual signal, to move in the desired direction, either lifting or lowering the cradle. The level sensing module returns a signal to the motor control module to terminate the motors, and thus the visual indicator, when the desired cradle position has been reached.

Marine vessel lifting system with variable level detection

A surgical fastener assembly for coupling first and second bone portions across a fracture therebetween is disclosed. In one embodiment of the present invention, the surgical fastener assembly includes an anchor that has a first externally threaded portion disposed in the first bone portion and a second portion which is at least partially disposed in the second bone portion. At least one pin is operably associated with the first portion of the anchor such that when the pin is in a retracted position the pin is disposed within the anchor and when the pin is in an extended position at least a portion of the pin extends outward from the anchor. An actuator is disposed within the anchor and is operably coupled with the at least one pin. A guide is adapted to be fixedly secured to the second bone portion and includes a sleeve. The second portion of the anchor is received within the sleeve. A fastener is provided that has a head portion and an externally threaded shank portion. The shank portion threadedly engages with the anchor and the head portion operably engages with the guide.

Surgical fastener assembly

The intramedullary nail system includes an intramedullary nail for insertion in the femur. The nail has an axial bore and an intersecting transverse bore. A lag screw is inserted through the transverse bore and turned into the head of the femur. A slotted sleeve is inserted over the lag screw and through the transverse bore with the slots aligned with the axial bore. A sleeve lock is inserted into the axial bore and has a locking tab which engages the slots in the sleeve preventing rotational and longitudinal movement between the sleeve and the nail. A compression screw is turned into the trailing end of the lag screw and engages the encircling sleeve to provide longitudinal translation between the lag screw and sleeve to apply compressive force across a fracture.

Intramedullary hip nail with bifurcated lock

An intramedullary nail system for reducing and fixing fractures in long bones includes an elongated intramedullary nail having radial portals about the circumference. Tang assemblies are slidably telescoped inside the nail with resilient tangs which are deployed through the portals to interlock the nail and the portions of the bone.

Intramedullary nail

An apparatus and method for fusing opposing spinal vertebrae is disclosed. In an embodiment for a spinal implant of the present invention, the implant includes a body assembly and a retention member coupled to the body assembly. The retention member includes a tang where the tang is extendible from the body assembly. In a method of the present invention, the method includes the step of inserting an implant between adjacent vertebrae with a retention member of the implant in a first retracted configuration. The method also includes the step of configuring the retention member in a second extended configuration wherein when the retention member is in its second extended configuration, a portion of a tang of the retention member extends from the implant and into one of the adjacent vertebrae.

Apparatus and method for fusing opposing spinal vertebrae

An intramedullary system for securing portions of a bone together has a lag screw assembly extending through a radial bore in an intramedullary nail. The lag screw is inserted into one portion of a bone and deployed to fix the leading end. The intramedullary nail is placed in the intramedullary canal of a portion of the bone and the trailing end of the lag screw assembly is adjustably fixed in the radial bore to provide compression between the lag screw assembly and the intramedullary nail. The intramedullary nail has a cap screw in the proximal end holding the lag screw assembly and a tang in the distal end. The tang has legs extending through the nail to fix the distal end in the intramedullary canal.

Femoral nail intramedullary system

A swimming pool control system automatically controls the daily maintenance functions of a swimming pool. The control system actively monitors system conditions, makes adjustments for abnormal conditions, and provides remote feedback of system problems during its daily cycle. In addition, the control system provides operator assisted manual override operation and control of additional auxiliary equipment. The system includes a novel filter valve, a novel water level system and a novel suction valve that can be run and monitored non-manually by a digital controller.

Swimming pool control system

A rod bending device using a combination of a movable mandrel and two moving rollers, between which mandrel and which rollers the rod bending is effected, the movements of which mandrel and rollers are effected simultaneously by the same power system and by a single power stroke. The power system, preferably a hydraulic system, effects movement of the movable mandrel which in turn simultaneously effects movement of two arms which support the movable rollers. This simultaneous movement of the mandrel and the rollers effects the bending of the rod which is positioned between the mandrel and the rollers. The curvature and the degree of the bending are determined by the shape of the mandrel, the positioning of the rollers on the supporting arms and the extent of the revolution of the arms about the individual fulcrums on which the respective arms are revolved.

Rod bending apparatus

An apparatus for rapidly starting and stopping a conical scan antenna beam in which a feed rotating about a centerline provides a non-conical scan antenna beam during a search mode. When a target is detected a solenoid moves an actuator pin which displaces one end of the feed from the centerline providing a conical scan antenna beam for target tracking.
