An ejector for jetting modified metal is disclosed. The ejector for jetting modified metal also includes a nozzle orifice in connection with the inner cavity and configured to eject one or more droplets of liquid metal. The ejector for jetting modified metal includes a first gas source associated with the inner cavity and an external portion of the nozzle. The ejector for jetting modified metal also includes a second gas source coupled to the first gas source and in proximity to an external portion of the nozzle orifice.

Ejector for modification of metal jetting compositions and methods thereof

The nozzles of a MHD liquid metal ejector/printhead can be clogged by contaminants in the liquid metal. Typically, these contaminants are in the form of small particles of aggregates of particles, such as metal oxides, that are insoluble in the liquid metal. Possible cleaning methods include mechanically removing the clogging material, such as by using a physical device to dislodge the clogging material and remove it; chemically removing the clogging material, such as by using selected chemicals/flux to chemically react with the clogging material; using ultrasound to break/remove the clogging material; and providing reversed and/or oscillating flow of material through the nozzle.

A method for metal jetting is disclosed. The method for metal jetting includes introducing a first gas into an outer nozzle of an ejector nozzle from a first gas source introducing an additive to the first gas from a second source, combining the additive with the first gas. The method for metal jetting also includes ejecting a droplet of molten metal printing material from the ejector nozzle. The method for metal jetting includes allowing the additive to react with the droplet of molten metal printing material to form a modified molten metal printing material.

A metal component is disclosed. The metal component has a first dimension greater than 5 mm, and a second dimension greater than 5 mm. The metal component may include where the alloy includes titanium, aluminum, vanadium, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. The alloy may include zirconium, titanium, copper, nickel, and beryllium. A method includes illuminating a drop with a pulse of light from a light source. A duration of the pulse of light is from about 0.0001 seconds to about 0.1 seconds. Characterizing the drop includes determining a size of the drop, a location of the drop, or both in the image, the video, or both.

The surface treatment may include contacting a surface of the nozzle with one or more surface modifying agents. An inner surface of the nozzle may have a water contact angle of greater than 1&#xb0; and less than about 90&#xb0;. The inner surface of the nozzle may be free or substantially free of a coating.

A printer includes a printhead configured to eject high viscosity material and refill a reservoir in the printhead with high viscosity material. The printhead includes a transducer having an electroactive element and a member to which the electroactive element is mounted. Method of forming piezo driver electrodes

A system and method are provided for controlling archival sheet curl formation in image receiving media substrates on which images are formed using aqueous inks as the marking material. Archival curl occurs over time and is based on a partial coverage of the image receiving media substrates by the deposited water-based marking materials. A unique post-processing scheme applies selective aqueous clear fluid onto imaged substrates (cut sheets) to substantially counteract long-term archival curl formation in the individual image receiving media substrates. Both opposing sides of the cut sheet are processed in a manner that causes them to substantially equally undergo the generally irreversible shrinkage phenomenon that leads to archival curl, thus substantially canceling out the archival curl formation mechanism. A clear fluid is applied image-wise to portions of one or both sides of the image receiving media substrates to counterbalance the formed aqueous ink image.
