Arrangement for introducing a liquid medium into exhaust gases from a combustion engine, comprising a mixing duct, a first flow guide for creating a first exhaust vortex in the mixing duct such that the exhaust gases in this first exhaust vortex rotate in a first direction of rotation during their movement downstream in the mixing duct, an injector for injecting the liquid medium in the form of a finely divided spray into exhaust gases which are led into the liquid medium in an exhaust flow at the center of the first vortex, and a second flow guide for creating a second exhaust vortex in the mixing duct concentrically with and externally about the first vortex, such that the exhaust gases in this second vortex rotate in a second direction of rotation, which is opposite to said first direction of rotation, during their movement downstream in the mixing duct.

Arrangement for introducing a liquid medium into exhaust gases from a combustion engine: an injector for injecting the liquid medium into an injection chamber (), a casing () which surrounds the injection chamber, a mixing duct (), a gathering chamber () which surrounds the casing and is connected to the injection chamber via throughflow apertures of the casing, and a bypass duct () for leading exhaust gases into the mixing duct without passing through the gathering chamber and the injection chamber. The inlet () of the gathering chamber diverts a portion of the exhaust gases to flow into the gathering chamber, and then into the injection chamber via the throughflow apertures, and thereafter into the mixing duct, while the bypass duct leads another portion of the exhaust gases into the mixing duct in order to be mixed there with the diverted exhaust gases.

Arrangement for introducing a liquid medium into exhaust gases from a combustion engine: an exhaust gas line (), an injection chamber () bounded in radial directions by a tubular wall (), an injector () injects the liquid medium into the injection chamber; a mixing duct () to which the injection chamber has an outlet () for delivering exhaust gases; a bypass duct () which has an outlet () via which it is connected to the mixing duct, and an endwall () at the injection chamber's downstream end and demarcating the chamber from the mixing duct, such that the chamber's outlet is situated at the periphery of the endwall. The outlet of the bypass duct is close to the outlet of the injection chamber so that the exhaust gases which flow into the mixing duct via the chamber's outlet will collide with the exhaust gases which flow into the mixing duct via the outlet of the bypass duct.

The inlet duct has a first duct section which is annular in cross-section and a second duct section which is annular in cross-section. The second duct section is situated downstream of the first duct section and surrounds the mixing duct. The first duct section surrounds the second duct section. The mixing duct further has a flow reversal section via which an annular outlet of the first duct section is connected to an annular inlet of the second duct section and which is configured to reverse the direction of flow of the exhaust gases flowing through the inlet duct, to flow through the second duct section in a direction opposite to that of the exhaust gases in the first duct section.
