The invention relates to a method for the continuous production of semicrystalline polycondensate pellets. Said method comprises the following steps: producing a polycondensate material; shaping polycondensate pellets and solidifying the polycondensate melt in a liquid cooling medium, wherein the shaping of the pellets can be carried out prior to or after solidification; separating the pellets from the liquid cooling medium once the polycondensate pellets have cooled down to an average temperature that lies within the crystallization temperature range of the polycondensate; and crystallizing the pellets in a treatment chamber, the treatment gas being led in said treatment chamber in a countercurrent to the polycondensate pellets, the flow rate of the treatment gas being above the incipient fluidization point of the polycondensate pellets and the polycondensate pellets having a narrow dwell time spectrum in the treatment chamber.

Method for producing homogeneously crystallized polycondensate pellets

The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for forming molten drops of precursors of thermoplastic polyesters or copolyesters as molten monomer, oligomer, monomer/glycol mixture or after partial polycondensator [sic] and melting to give a molten precursor, in which the precursor formed into drops is introduced into a gaseous medium, and the gaseous medium, after entry of the precursor formed into drops into the gaseous medium, accelerates the crystallization process by holding the drop-form precursor at a temperature above 100&#xb0; C. and below its melting point for a limited time until crystallization of the drop at the surface of the precursor is complete. To this end, the apparatus has a fall tower, through which the gaseous medium flows in countercurrent from bottom to top, while the drops fall in the vertical direction from top to bottom into a collecting funnel with a precrystallized surface.

Method and device for producing granulates from intermediate products of thermo-plastic polyesters and copolyesters

The invention relates to a granulating device for strand materials comprising a pull-in device for feeding the strand material, conducted through an inlet shaft, and transporting it to a knife roll for cutting up the strand material into granulate, said pull-in device having a pull-in roll, and a counter-roll, of which rolls at least one is driveable and both form a inter-roll gap for pulling-in the strand material. A proximity-type switching element is disposed in the region of the inlet shaft, particularly in front of the entrance thereof, said proximity-type switching element raising, when actuated, the setting of the inter-roll gap and increasing the inter-roll gap to such a width that the further pulling-in of the strand material is abruptly stopped.
