Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for previewing search results. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a query from a client device. One or more image search results are provided to the client device, each of the one or more image search results identifying a corresponding image resource and each of the one or more image search results including an image representation of the corresponding image resource. One or more related queries are provided to the client device, the one or more related queries having been determined to be related to the query, wherein each of the one or more related queries includes a preview image to be displayed at the client device, the preview image representing an image search result responsive to the related query.

Previewing search results

Methods, apparatus and software for classifying queries. In an aspect, for each of a plurality of queries, determines a first value based on a first number of occurrences for which the query was received for unfiltered search operations, and a determines a second value based on a second number of occurrences for which the query was received for filtered search operations. The method determines a first content type value based on the first value and the second value, and for each of the plurality of queries having a first content type value that meets a first threshold, classifies the query as a first content type seeking query, the classification being indicative of likely user interest in content of the first type.

Query classification

A computing device is configured to provide a search results document that includes information regarding images that have been identified as relevant to a search query, and receive a request to access an image provided in the search results document. The image may be associated with a document that includes the image. The computing device is configured to determine, based on the request, whether the document is image-centric with respect to the image, and selectively provide, based on whether the document is image-centric with respect to the image, an image overlay document corresponding to the image or the document associated with the image. The image overlay document may be provided when the document is not image-centric with respect to the image, and the document may be provided when the document is image-centric with respect to the image.

Image-centric documents

Websites or webpages that break frames may be automatically detected by determining a first value, based on a number of occurrences, that a child webpage and a container webpage are provided for presentation, the child webpage being presented within a frame of the container webpage. A second value may be determined, based on a number of occurrences, of user interaction data, indicating user interaction with the container webpage. The method may further include calculating a frame break score for the child webpage based on the first value and the second value and comparing the frame break score to a threshold. The method may further include identifying, based on the comparison to the threshold, the child webpage as a webpage that breaks frames.
