The disclosed invention makes use of a wheel speed signal to detect a wheel anomaly such as a loose wheel or a wheel with zero pressure. The wheel speed signal is used as a basis to determine a first and a second detection signal. A further basis for determining the first and second detection signals are a first and second reference signal, respectively. The anomaly of e.g. a loose wheel is detected, according to the teaching of the invention if at least one of the detection signals exceeds a threshold. In particular, the disclosure relates to methods, systems and computer program products to achieve the mentioned objective.

Loose wheel detection

A system for determining a tire change status in a vehicle is provided. The system includes at least one processing device and a storage device. The at least one processing device may be arranged to: calculate a value of at least one reference parameter which may be used in indirect tire pressure monitoring; store the calculated value of said at least one reference parameter in the storage device; retrieve a previously stored value of said at least one reference parameter from the storage device; determine a similarity parameter based on a similarity between the calculated value and the previously stored value of said at least one reference parameter; and determine a tire change status, indicating whether or not the tires have been re-filled or replaced, by comparing said similarity parameter with a threshold.

Determining a tire change status in a vehicle

A system and method for issuing a tire pressure deviation in a vehicle's tire is described. The system may include a calculation unit adapted to calculate temporally successive output signals indicative of a tire pressure condition in the vehicle's tire on the basis of temporally successive vehicle's signals. The system may also include a calibration unit adapted to determine a calibration value on the basis of a number of temporally successive output signals from the calculation unit. The system may also include a detection unit configured to detect a tire pressure deviation in the vehicle's tire on the basis of further temporally successive output signals from the calculation unit and the calibration value from the calibration unit, after determination of the calibration value by the calibration unit.

Method, system and computer program of detecting a tire pressure device

System for determining tire wear for tires of a wheeled motor vehicle including a direct tire pressure determination unit being configured to measure at least the tire pressure of the tires; an indirect tire pressure determination unit being configured to determine for at least some of the tires a roll radius factor corresponding to or depending from the roll radius of the respective tire; a tire force determination unit being configured to determine a vertical force factor corresponding to or depending from a vertical force applied to the tires; and a processing unit for determining the tire wear for such tires of the motor vehicle for which the indirect tire pressure determination unit provides the respective roll radius factor, namely by compensating the roll radius factor of the tires provided by the indirect tire pressure determination unit.

System and method for determining tire wear

The invention provides a system, a method and a computer program of estimating tire pressure deviations in a number of tires of a vehicle wherein a plurality of possible constellations of one or more pressure deviating tires exists. The system comprises a plurality of pressure deviation detectors (), wherein each of the detectors () is adapted to detect at least one of the pressure deviating tire constellations. The system further comprises an output unit () which is adapted to provide for a warning if one of the pressure deviation detectors () detects at least one of the pressure deviating tire constellations.

The invention is directed to a system, a method and a computer program including program code for carrying out the method, when executed on a processing system, of estimating a tire pressure deviation of a vehicle's tire (). Method, system and computer program for estimation of the pressure

A method of estimating the occurrence of a specific tire pressure deviation between actual and nominal pressure values for one or a plurality of wheels (i) is provided. One or more wheel radius analysis measurement values (&#x394;R) are subsequently obtained from a wheel radius analysis component (), wherein the wheel radius analysis measurement values (&#x394;R) are related to single wheel radius values (&#x394;r) of which each is indicative of the wheel radius of a particular wheel (i). Tire pressure estimation

The polarization axes of the ends of two PM fibers are aligned in an automatic fiber splicer by first making a linear alignment of the fiber ends () using movable retainers () the same way as for conventional splicing. The fiber ends are rotated by rotatable fixtures () to capture images by a camera () and therefrom, in an image processing and analysis unit (), as controlled by logical circuits () light contrast profiles are determined as functions of the angular position. From the light contrast profiles the polarization axes are determined and then they are aligned with each other. The images are captured of an area at and around the fiber ends as seen in an observation plane. This observation plane is taken to have such a position that the variation of the light contrast profiles is sufficiently large, this making the determination of the angular positions of the polarization axes have a sufficient accuracy, also for for example elliptical core fibers.

PM fiber alignment

A system and method for distributing the fault management functions throughout a communications network. Each node in the network includes an associated fault agent/configuration agent pair. The fault agent receives alarm information and correlates the alarm information to identify a cause of a fault in the network. The fault agent then determines if correction of the fault can be handled at the current node. If so, the fault agent passes information identifying the fault to the associated configuration agent, which generates reconfiguration data for handling the fault and sends the reconfiguration data to subordinate nodes for implementation. If, on the other hand, the fault agent determines that the fault cannot be handled at the current node, the fault agent passes the alarm data, in summary form, to a higher level fault agent/configuration agent pair for handling at that higher level or for further processing and passing the data up the network until a level is reached at which the fault can be handled.

Distributed fault management architecture

A method and system that enables the changing of the gain in a closed loop (e.g., self-configuring) telecommunications system based on the age of the available measurements. A high gain is used when measured data are &ldquo;fresh&rdquo;, so as to obtain a good performance (e.g., a fast response) for the telecommunications system. The gain is then reduced when the age of the measurements increases. The decreased gain results in a slower system response, but this is a desirable result in order to preserve stability. The system and method may be applied, for example, in many mobile telecommunications systems (e.g., GSM, WCDMA, etc.). In one embodiment, the system and method of the present invention modify the closed loop gain in an adaptive fashion and use one or more fuzzy membership functions for specifying what is meant by &ldquo;fresh&rdquo; measurements.

Adaptive control of telecommunications systems with measurements of varying time-delays
