Embodiments include techniques for developing a model framework for remote unit monitoring condition-based maintenance. The techniques include collecting data associated with unplanned service requests, and generating one or more models from the collected data. The techniques also include predicting unplanned service requests based at least in part on the one or more models, and transmitting an output of the prediction of the unplanned service request.

Model development framework for remote monitoring condition-based maintenance

A monitoring system includes one or more detection devices, a communication device, and an analytics system. The one or more detection devices generate, at a conveyance system, one or more data streams describing the ride of the conveyance system, where the data streams include at least one of vibration data and audio data. The communication device transmits sensor data based on the one or more data streams. The analytics system receives the sensor data from the communication device and, based on the sensor data, determines a ride quality of the conveyance system.

An elevator system includes a component adapted to perform a function, a sensor, and a control configuration. The sensor is configured to detect an operating parameter associated with the function. The control configuration is configured to receive a parameter signal from the sensor, and extract a predesignated feature from data associated with the parameter signal. The predesignated feature is then aggregated by the control configuration and machine learning is applied to determine a degradation level of the function associated with the predesignated feature.

An electrical inspection system for an elevator load bearing member includes an electrically conductive, low resistance wrap located at the load bearing member, contacting the load bearing member around a circumference of the load bearing member. An inspection unit is configured to apply an electrical current through the load bearing member and determine an electrical resistance of the load bearing member, and is electrically connected to the load bearing member at the wrap to distribute electrical current uniformly therethrough. A method of determining an electrical resistance of a load bearing member of an elevator system includes applying an electrically conductive low electrical resistance wrap entirely around a circumference of the load bearing member. An inspection unit is connected to the load bearing member at the wrap. An electrical current is applied through the wrap into the load bearing member to determine an electrical resistance of the load bearing member.

Connector for inspection system of elevator tension member

An exemplary system includes a moveable mass. A load bearing member includes at least one electrically conductive tension member that supports a load associated with movement of the mass. An electrically conductive member is situated along a selected portion of a path of movement of the load bearing member. The electrically conductive member is not subject to a load on the tension member. A processor is configured to determine an electrical resistance of the tension member as an indicator of a condition of the tension member. The processor is configured to determine an electrical resistance of the electrically conductive member. The processor uses the determined electrical resistance of the electrically conductive member to compensate for any environmental influence on the determined electrical resistance of the tension member.

Temperature compensation for monitoring a load bearing member

A resistance circuit for monitoring a support structure is provided. The resistance circuit may include a first set of resistors disposed at a belt-side and a second set of resistors disposed at a monitor-side. The first set of resistors may be configured to indicate one or more voltages thereacross corresponding to an effective resistance of the support structure. The first set of resistors may include at least one temperature-dependent resistor. The second set of resistors may be configured to indicate one or more voltages thereacross corresponding to an initial effective resistance of the support structure. The second set of resistors may include at least one switched resistor having an adjustable resistance capable of selectively approximating the initial effective resistance.
