The present invention is directed toward a composition comprising: an epoxy compound, a polythiol curing agent, and a second curing agent. Also disclosed are methods of treating a substrate with the composition and substrates formed by such methods.

Thiol-containing composition

A radio frequency signaling system includes a curable coating composition configured to be cured to form a cured coating and a sensor received in the curable coating composition. The sensor includes circuitry forming an inductor-capacitor circuit. The circuitry has a maximum outer diameter of 10 μm-2.0 mm. The circuitry is configured to generate an electromagnetic field in response to an external radio frequency signal. A container configured to be monitored by a radio frequency signaling system is also provided. The container includes: a container body having an outer surface and an inner surface; a cured coating on the inner surface and/or the outer surface of the container body; and a sensor positioned in the cured coating configured to detect absorption of a fluid contained in the container body by the cured coating.

Radio frequency signaling system and curable composition

Disclosed is a system for treating a surface of a multi-metal article. The system includes first and second and/or third conversion compositions for contacting at least a portion of the surface. The first conversion composition includes phosphate ions and zinc ions and is substantially free of fluoride. The second conversion composition includes a lanthanide series metal cation and an oxidizing agent. The third conversion composition includes an organophosphate compound, an organophosphonate compound, or combinations thereof that optionally may include at least one transition metal. Methods of treating a multi-metal article using the system also are disclosed. Also disclosed are substrates treated with the system and method.

Two-step pretreatment system and method

The present invention includes a process for producing treated filler that includes (a) treating a slurry that includes untreated filler, where the untreated filler has not been previously dried, with a treating composition that includes a treating agent, thereby forming a treated filler slurry, and (b) drying the treated filler slurry to produce treated filler. The treating agent can include a polymer having (i) at least one first group that interacts with the untreated filler and (ii) at least one second group that interacts with a rubber matrix into which the treated filler is incorporated. The present invention provides an electroactive optical device including an optical substrate having two opposing surfaces; at least two electrodes spaced one from the other and disposed on the surface of the substrate; and at least one electroactive material layer in contact with the at least two electrodes and the surface of the substrate. A coating composition having a measured solids content of at least 95% according to test method ASTM D2369 is disclosed. The composition includes a mixture of (a) a polymer prepared from one or more functional monomers having a (meth)acrylic monomer, an allyl monomer, or combinations thereof each having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and an additional reactive functional group, and (b) a reactive diluent. At least some of the additional reactive functional group of the functional monomer remains unreacted during formation of the polymer. The reactive diluent has at least one ethylenically unsaturated functional group, no additional functionality, and a boiling point of greater than 100&#xb0; C. The ethylenically unsaturated functional group of the reactive diluent and the additional reactive functional group remaining within the polymer do not react. Embodiments of the present invention relate to composite materials. In one embodiment, a composite material comprises an inorganic ceramic matrix comprising a first surface and a second surface opposite the first outer surface and generally parallel to the first outer surface. At least one open weave fiber glass fabric is disposed in the inorganic ceramic matrix between the first surface and the second surface. In another embodiment, a composite material comprises a first inorganic ceramic matrix comprising pieces of stone, a second inorganic ceramic matrix attached adjacent to the first inorganic ceramic matrix, and at least one open weave fiber glass fabric disposed in the second inorganic ceramic matrix.

The present invention is directed to methods of separating a fluid emulsion stream into a hydrocarbon stream and an aqueous stream, by contacting the stream with a microporous membrane to yield a hydrocarbon product stream and an aqueous product stream. The membrane comprises a substantially hydrophobic, polymeric matrix, and substantially hydrophilic, finely divided, particulate, substantially water-insoluble filler distributed throughout the matrix. The polymeric matrix has a mean pore size less than 1.0 micron, and the purities of the product streams are independent of the flux rate of the aqueous product stream and the pore size of the membrane.

Fluid emulsion purification processes using microporous materials having filtration and adsorption properties

An activating rinse for treating a substrate is disclosed. The activating rinse comprises a first component comprising a dispersion of divalent or trivalent metal phosphate particles having an average particle size that is not greater than 10 &#x3bc;m, and a second component comprising first and second copolymers. The first copolymer is formed by the polymerization of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, or combinations thereof, wherein one end of the first copolymer is terminated by an amine group, a hydroxyl group, or an alkyl group. The second copolymer is formed by the polymerization of styrene and a second monomer containing at least one carboxylate group, anhydride group, or combinations thereof. The second monomer is present in an amount of less than 50 percent by weight of the total weight of the second component. Also disclosed are methods for treating a substrate with the activating rinse and substrates treated with the activating rinse.
