An active EMC filter for medical applications allows reducing the leakage current normally induced by large phase-to-ground capacitances. The filter may comprise an active shunt module or an impedance converter or a correction signal generator and is suitable both for three-phase and single-phase applications.

Active EMC filter for medical applications

It is disclosed an intelligent power monitoring unit () for the monitoring of a power supply (), which comprises a power input () for the input of electrical power, a power output () for the output of electrical power, a power line connecting the power input () to the power output (), a first EMI/RFI filter () for the reduction of electromagnetic noise on the power line, monitoring means for monitoring parameters of the electrical power on the power line and/or for monitoring parameters of the first EMI/RFI filter (), a data processing unit () for receiving and processing signals from the monitoring means and for issuing control signals basing on these signals, and a data communication bus for exchanging data between the data processing unit () and a device () external to the monitoring unit (). The invention relates as well to a power supply () with such an intelligent power monitoring unit ().

Intelligent power monitoring unit

EMC filter, for connection between a mains supply network and a mains-operated appliance to reduce conduction noise between said supply network and said appliance, comprising a voltage divider connected to said mains network, for generating a voltage lower than a voltage of said mains network; rectifying means, connected to an output of said voltage divider, for generating a DC voltage; and an electronic active circuit, supplied by said DC voltage, for absorbing a noise current transmitted between said supply network and said appliance.
