A cylinder head for a water-cooled multi-cylinder internal-combustion engine has two intake valves and outlet valves per cylinder. A cylinder head cooling chamber has inflow and outflow openings for coolant as well as a receiving opening for a spark plug. The receiving opening is arranged centrally relative to the cylinder head cooling chamber of a cylinder. On the inflow side in the cylinder head cooling chamber, a main cooling flow runs between the two outlet valves in the direction of the receiving opening for the spark plug, while two secondary cooling flows are provided at the two edge areas of the inflow side.

Cylinder head for a water-cooled multi-cylinder internal-combustion engine

A cylinder block of an internal-combustion engine of an open-deck construction, in which the cooling water jacket and the oil jacket between the cylinder tube and the cylinder block housing are separated from one another by a connection web which connects the respective cylinder tubes with the cylinder block housing. In order to reduce the cylinder tube distortions in the braced condition of the cylinder block, ribs are provided at least in the water jacket or in the oil jacket. The ribs start out from the connection web and improve the linking of the cylinder tubes to the cylinder block housing. The height of these ribs is much lower than the height of the water jacket or of the oil jacket which results in a low weight increase and minimizes the linking lengths to the cylinder tube.

Cylinder block of an internal-combustion engine

An annular gap formed between a shaft of a cylinder head bolt and adjacent components is filled with a wire knit for example to increase the heat transfer. The improved heat transfer reduces the increase in bolt force, especially after a cold start of the internal combustion engine.

Cylinder head threaded connection arrangement

A crankshaft with bearing pins and crank pins whereby the crank pins are delimited by counter weights constructed as webs or arms that extend transversely to the longitudinal axis of the crankshaft. These counter weights are circumcirculated during the rotation of the crankshaft at least by an air-oil-mixture in a crankcase and in an oil pan of the internal combustion engine. For reducing the power losses of the internal combustion engine by oil and or air-oil-mixture displacements by the webs or arms, the latter are constructed in their area disposed remote from the crank pins in the manner of aerodynamic bodies.

Crankshaft for reciprocating piston engine

A crankshaft of a ferro-metallic material for reciprocating engines, particularly for internal combustion engines, includes bearing pins and crank pins whereby the crank pins are delimited by webs extending transversely to a longitudinal center axis of the crankshaft which are constructed as counterweights. For optimizing the crankshaft as regards weight and structural length combined with good mass balancing, the crank pins are provided with hollow bores in the direction of their center axis and the counterweights with heavy-metal bodies.
