A system () and method is provided that facilitates functional safety monitoring of relay contacts. The system may include a contactless sensor circuit () that includes: an output signal antenna () positioned in the contactless sensor circuit to extend between at least two contacts () of a relay (); and first and second input signal antennas () positioned in the contactless sensor circuit respectively adjacent the at least two contacts of the relay, such that the output signal antenna and the at least two contacts of the relay are positioned between the first and second input signal antennas. The system may also include a processor () configured to cause the output signal antenna to output a wireless signal () capable of being received by the first and second input signal antennas while the processor monitors wireless signals received by the first and second input signals antennas. The processor may be configured to determine that the relay has a fault based on the wireless signals received by the first and second input signal antennas, and responsive thereto output at least one communication () indicative of a fault with the relay being detected.

A heatable gas analysis device which is monitored in a simply way, wherein a gas analysis device contains a monitoring unit which, after the device is switched on and until a predefined operating temperature is reached, generates a two-dimensional temperature profile from temperature progressions measured at different measuring points within the device, in which temperature profile one dimension indicates time and another dimension indicates the different measuring points, where the monitoring unit compares the temperature profile to a reference temperature profile generated and stored under reference conditions and, in the event of any deviation exceeding a predefined amount, generates an error message.

A lock-in amplifier with an additional phase-sensitive detector is provided. A measurement signal is mixed in a multiplicative fashion with a reference signal, which is phase-shifted by 90 degrees, for a modulation frequency. In order to reliably filter out interference signal portions in a widest possible dynamic range and, at the same time, minimize unavoidable influence on the useful signal portion, a control device is connected downstream of the additional phase-sensitive detector. The control device determines a control variable corresponding to the strength of the interference signal from the measurement signal mixed with the reference signal phase shifted by 90 degrees and uses the control variable to change the integration duration of the integrator proportionally to the control variable, a corresponding cut-off frequency of an equivalent low pass being coordinated automatically.

A pressure transmitter has a housing () on which a pressure sensor () is fastened. There is provided in the housing a region, produced micromechanically, with reduced wall thickness that forms a separating diaphragm () such that the fluid located in a channel () does not act on the pressure sensor (). The pressure sensor () is connected with a sensor diaphragm () directly to the separating diaphragm via a connecting layer (), thereby rendering possible a highly space-saving design of the pressure transmitter. Consequently, the pressure transmitter can be formed, for example, by the pressure sensor and a channel structure, for example a microreactor, produced in a micromechanical design. A small dead volume in the channel structure is thereby produced in the region of the pressure transmitter.

A non-dispersive infrared gas analyzer for determining concentrations of carbon dioxide and/or carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides has two measuring cells 4, 6 consecutively traversed by a beam, with an optopneumatic detector 22 for carbon dioxide and an optopneumatic detector 23 for carbon monoxide arranged between them.
