The invention relates to platelet-shaped pearlescent pigments that are coated with at least one mixed inorganic/organic layer for improving their application properties, and of these, particularly their mechanical properties, and to methods for the production thereof and to the use thereof. The said mixed inorganic/organic layer comprises at least one at least partially crosslinked inorganic metal-oxide component and an organic component. The organic component is at least one organic oligomer and/or polymer, which is covalently bonded, at least in part, to the inorganic network via network formers, wherein the coating comprises at least one mixed inorganic/organic layer, which mixed mixed layer comprises, at least in part, an inorganic network having one or more inorganic oxide component(s) and at least one organic component, the organic component being, at least in part, an organic oligomer and/or polymer covalently bonded, at least in part, to the inorganic network via one or more organic network formers. The invention also relates to a method for the production of such pearlescent pigments.

Pearlescent pigments coated with mixed inorganic/organic layers and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to platelet-shaped pearlescent pigments that are coated with at least one mixed inorganic/organic layer for improving their application properties, and of these, particularly their mechanical properties, and to methods for the production thereof and to the use thereof. The said mixed inorganic/organic layer comprises at least one at least partially crosslinked inorganic metal-oxide component and an organic component. The organic component is at least one organic oligomer and/or polymer, which is covalently bonded, at least in part, to the inorganic network via network formers, wherein the coating comprises at least one mixed inorganic/organic layer, which mixed layer comprises, at least in part, an inorganic network having one or more inorganic oxide component(s) and at least one organic component, the organic component being, at least in part, an organic oligomer and/or polymer covalently bonded, at least in part, to the inorganic network via one or more organic network formers. The invention also relates to a method for the production of such pearlescent pigments.

The present invention relates to a nail varnish including at least one effect pigment and at least one micronized wax, and to a process for producing it. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of at least one micronized wax in a nail varnish and to an article provided with the nail varnish. Moreover, the invention relates to a mixture of at least one pigment and at least one micronized wax.

Nail varnish with a velvety feel

The invention relates to a cosmetic preparation containing a metallic effect pigment which consists of a metal substrate having a layer enclosing the substrate. Said layer is produced in a sol/gel method, has a barrier effect against sweat and saliva and prevents a direct contact between skin and metallic substrate, the metallic pigment being hydrophilic. The inventive preparation can be in the form of a cream, a lotion, an eye shadow, a nail varnish, a lipstick, a mascara, a gel, a make-up formulation or a self-tanning cream or lotion.

The invention relates to pearlescent pigments with a platelet-shaped substrate comprising metal oxide and having a first and a second protective layer, said metal oxide having a refractive index of greater than 1.8, there being on the platelet-shaped substrate a first protective layer comprising cerium oxide and/or cerium hydroxide and a second protective layer of SiO, applied to which is an organic chemical aftercoat comprising at least one silane having at least one functional bond group and at least one silane without a functional bond group, it being possible for metal oxide layers other than cerium oxide and SiOto be disposed between the first and the second protective layer. The invention further relates to a process for preparing these pigments, and to the use thereof.
