The invention relates to an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus comprising a blood treatment unitthat is divided by a semipermeable membraneinto a first compartment, which is part of a fluid system II, and a second compartment, which is part of an extracorporeal blood circuit I. The invention also relates to a method for operating a blood treatment apparatus of this kind. The blood treatment apparatus according to the invention has a pressure-based checking devicewhich interacts with the control unitfor a valve deviceand is designed such that a fluid connection between an upstream portionA and a downstream portionB of a flow pathfor a special operating mode can only be established if the pressure-based checking devicedetects an operating state in which it is ensured that fluid in the flow pathfor a special operating mode flows towards a flow pathleading to a drain. This ensures that the fluid in question can only flow into the flow paththat leads to the drain, and cannot get into another flow pathin which fresh treatment fluid is located.

Extracorporeal blood treatment device

The invention relates to the field of medical fluid management devices, in particular dialysis machines. The object of the invention is to design methods and devices, such that the monitoring and control of medical fluid management devices from a remote site are possible. To do so, the screen content of the output device of a fluid management device is transmitted at least partially to an output device of a remote control unit. The screen content optionally has user interfaces, which can be selected on the remote control device and lead to changes in the control of the transmitting medical fluid management device.

Method and device for remote monitoring and control of medical fluid management devices

A method and device that relates to the field of medical fluid management devices, in particular dialysis machines, provided. The method and device is configured to provide for the monitoring and control of medical fluid management devices from a remote site. To do so, the screen content of the output device of a fluid management device is transmitted at least partially to an output device of a remote control unit. The screen content optionally has user interfaces, which can be selected on the remote control device and lead to changes in the control of the transmitting medical fluid management device.

A container includes a dry concentrate designed such that the dry concentrate forms an acid liquid concentrate, or a part of an acid liquid concentrate, which is suitable for manufacturing a dialysis solution, on the dissolution of the dry concentrate in a liquid, preferably in water.

A method for venting a dialyzer which has a dialyzate chamber, a blood chamber and a semi-permeable dialyzer membrane separating these two chambers. An overpressure is generated in the dialyzate chamber with respect to the blood chamber for removing air inclusions lying at the surface of the membrane at the dialyzate chamber side after a filling of the dialyzate chamber and before a filling of the blood chamber.

Method for venting a dialyzer

A dialysis machine has a dialyzer (D), a water inlet system for supplying the dialyzer (D) with fresh dialysis fluid which is connected to the dialyzer and an external water supply and with a line for used dialysis fluid, which is in communication with the dialyzer (D). The water inlet system includes a container for water or other liquid, in particular for RO water. The dialysis machine includes a heat exchanger connected with the line for used dialysis fluid and with the water inlet system so that heat is transferred from the used dialysis fluid to the liquid present in the water inlet system. The container includes means for physical separation of the external water supply and the downstream portions of the water inlet system, preferably a free-fall path for incoming liquid from the water supply, and the heat exchanger is arranged downstream of the container.

Dialysis machine

A blood treatment device includes a heat exchanger having a first space and a second space, with a first fluid flowing through the first space and a second fluid flowing through the second space. The heat exchanger has a membrane which separates the first space from the second space, with the membrane forming a component of a capacitor having two capacitor plates, between which the membrane is located. A monitoring means is connected to the capacitor, and is configured to detect an electrical property of the capacitor, for the purpose of detecting a fluid leak from the first space to the second space.

A method of filling a container, preferably containing at least one concentrate, with the concentrate being formed such that it forms at least one liquid concentrate or a part of a liquid concentrate on its solution in or its mixing with a liquid, preferably water, the liquid concentrate or the part of the liquid concentrate being suitable for preparing at least one dialysis solution, includes filling the container via a balance chamber system of a dialyzer. The balance chamber system has chambers from which the liquid is conveyed into the container in the form of repeating cycles. The pressure of the liquid being conveyed is measured during a cycle of the filling phase of the container, and an alarm signal is emitted and/or the filling of the container is stopped if a measured maximum pressure in a cycle does not reach or does not exceed a limit value.

Method of filling a container

A container for dialysis concentrates, in particular acidic dry concentrates, has integral supporting elements. When these dry concentrates are dissolved directly by a dialysis machine to form liquid concentrates, the container must provide a volume of 4-12 liters. To impart the required stability to the container, the container includes the integral supporting elements, which manifest their supporting function only when the container is used on the dialysis machine.

A method provides for the production of a concentrate for dialysis, the composition of which can be adapted individually to the respective needs of the patient. The special components required individually are added in the form of highly concentrated special concentrates with a volume of 10-500 mL to 3-10 liters of standard concentrate. The two solutions are then mixed thoroughly by compressed air, which is blown through a concentrate intake rod into the solution from a compressed air source in the dialysis machine.

The invention relates to an apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment, comprising a device for detecting a tubing system to be placed in the blood treatment apparatus and a method for detecting a tubing system to be placed in an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus. The tubing system is detected on the basis of the dependency of the flow rate Q, at which the fluid is delivered by at least one pump of the extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus in a tubing section of the tubing system, on the speed n at which the at least one pump is operated, and on the inner diameter d of the tube of the tubing section. Because the dependency of the flow rate on the pump speed and the tube cross section is known, a conclusion can be drawn as to whether a particular tubing system has been placed in the extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus.

Apparatus and method for identifying a tubing system for an extracorporeal blood treatment device

A method provides for checking the correct coupling of an adding device to a therapeutic appliance that includes an extracorporeal circuit with which the adding device is connected such that a drug can be introduced into the extracorporeal circuit by the adding device during operation of the therapeutic appliance. The adding device is coupled to the extracorporeal circuit on the suction side of a pump disposed in the extracorporeal circuit, with a portion in the region of negative pressure of the extracorporeal circuit being in connection with a portion of the adding device that is closed with respect to the other parts of the extracorporeal circuit, and with the pressure in the closed portion being varied and measured.
