Disclosed herein is a plate-type heat exchanger or chiller, with multiple stacking plates stacked one on top of the other such that a first fluid duct for a first fluid and a second fluid duct for a second fluid are formed between the stacking plates. A first inlet and outlet opening for conducting in and discharging the first fluid, and a second inlet and outlet opening for conducting in and discharging the second fluid is provided. The first inlet or outlet opening is formed by an immersion pipe and the first fluid can be conducted into the first fluid duct through the immersion pipe, such that the first inlet and outlet openings are formed on the same side of the heat exchanger.

The set pressure is compared with a reference pressure and control of the set air mass takes place via the throttling device in the intake pipe when the pressure falls below the reference pressure, and control of the set air mass is carried out via the engine valves when the pressure exceeds the reference pressure.

Method and apparatus for adjusting an internal combustion engine with variable valve timing

In an arrangement for producing a vacuum in a motor vehicle system including an internal combustion engine with an air intake system, a vacuum-operated power brake system for braking the vehicle and a fuel vapor adsorption system for collecting fuel vapors, a vacuum pump is provided which has a suction side in communication selectively with the vacuum operated power brake system and the fuel vapor adsorption system and a discharge side in communication with the air intake system of the internal combustion engine.

Arrangement for producing a vacuum in a motor vehicle system

The invention provides a method for shutting down and restarting individual cylinders of a multicylinder internal combustion engine by deactivating the charge change valves and the fuel injection. According to the invention, in shutting down a selected cylinder, the exhaust valve is disconnected first in all cases. Thereafter, the intake valve and fuel injection for the selected cylinder are controlled such that the last fuel injection into that cylinder takes place immediately before the last intake cycle. When a cylinder is restarted, the exhaust valve is always operated first, and only thereafter is the intake valve opened, with the first fuel injection always taking place immediately before the first intake cycle.
