A wireless device for processing an SMS message stores the message on a local first storage device, and sends the message to a wireless carrier SMS facility. The device further stores the message from the first storage device on a second storage device that is remote from the wireless device.

Enhanced wireless short message service

A computer system interacts with a mobile device to support the needs of remote users and may leverage e-ink technology so that a mobile user can access, manage and read documents without being tethered. The mobile device allows for both user-initiated downloads from a corporate entity as well as corporate pushes by the corporate entity to ensure that the user has updated content. The computer system receives a request for selected electronic content, where the request includes updated configuration information and user identification. The computer system then maps the user identification to a device type from a plurality of device types. Embodiments support different device types including electronic ink display capable devices. The selected electronic content is then downloaded to the mobile device. Subsequently, the computer system pushes updated versions of the selected electronic content based on the updated configuration information.

Mobile content management

Systems and methods of transmitting a message and/or a location request to individuals identified on an emergency contact list. In some arrangements, a message and/or location request may be transmitted from a first mobile device to a plurality of other mobile devices associated with individuals identified in the emergency contact list. The location of each mobile device is determined and transmitted to the first mobile device where the location information is stored and may be displayed, for instance, on a map. The systems and methods described herein may be independent of any technical infrastructure associated with the organization or business maintaining the emergency contact list. That is, a company may generally rely on systems independent of their own, such as public cellular networks, and the like, for operation of the systems and methods described herein.

Identifying location of individuals on a predefined list

A system for transmitting pushed data to a wireless data device generates a tracking identifier for a request for the pushed data and sends the request to a wireless data device server. The request includes the tracking ID and the wireless data device server includes a log file. The system parses the log file to extract confirmation data and determines whether the pushed data was successfully delivered based on the confirmation data. If the pushed data was not successfully delivered, the system will send a additional request for the pushed data to the wireless data device server.

A mobile implementation channel enables secure mobile customer alerts, content delivery, event and location awareness and context integration that can be leveraged across multiple lines of business using basic interfaces. Pushed documents may be processed by an application executing at a mobile device in a secure manner. An alert indication may be sent to the mobile device when the documents are available. The documents may then be downloaded over a secure channel if the user affirmatively responds to the alert indication and may be further encrypted and stored in an application file store. The user may subsequently select one of the documents from a document list so that the selected document may be decrypted and displayed. The stored documents in the application file store may be deleted if the operating system has been compromised, the user is not associated with a business, or the user device is lost or stolen.

Integration of different mobile device types with a business infrastructure

A mobile implementation channel enables secure mobile customer alerts, content delivery, event and location awareness and context integration that can be leveraged across multiple lines of business using basic interfaces. The mobile implementation channel enables secure reach to many mobile device types, abstracts away delivery peculiarities, and provides logging and security support when necessary taking into account who the individual is, where they are, and what they may be doing. A business infrastructure that is associated with a workflow generates a request to a computer system that subsequently maps the user identification to a device type from a plurality of device types and directs the request to a device based on the device type. The request may include content that may be formatted in accordance with the device type and that may be pushed to a device at a desired time or frequency.

Electronic content is routed and stored within an enterprise, in which a distributed service-oriented architecture platform is provided to seamlessly route and store content to heterogeneous enterprise content repositories. Dynamic content may be stored, retrieved and queried in real-time through a content service bus (CSB), thus eliminating the need to have point-to-point connectivity between client applications and the destination repositories, while supporting the flexibility to consolidate multiple platforms with minimal impacts to clients. The CSB framework may incorporate underlying technologies, including Web services, intelligent routing based on content, message transformation, and federation of content. A request may be routed to the appropriate content repository based on attached content or metadata in the request and transformed by the CSB to a format required by the determined content repository. The requestor is subsequently provided a response from the content repository in a consistent manner for all of the content repositories.

A system pushes documents to one or more wireless data devices. The system receives a push request from a user to push a specified document to one or more identified wireless data devices. The system then constructs a wireless gateway server request for each identified wireless data device, and the document is subsequently pushed to the devices.

Systems and methods are disclosed for identifying circumstances where end-to-end security is not available to a mobile banking customer. The user may be alerted/warned or restricted from accessing some banking services through his/her WAP-enabled mobile device if the server (e.g., bank server) determines that end-to-end security is not available. In some instances, the bank server may access a computer data file containing a list of known end-to-end secure devices and gateways to verify the integrity of the data communication. The server may verify the integrity of the data communication using loose matching.
