User devices are used to access data ranging from calendar items to Internet searches. An instant unified search interface provided by a unified search helper module enables a user of the user device to search data associated with one or more applications across applications on the user device as well as data in remote locations, such as on a server via a network connection. The unified search helper module may be provided as part of the operating system module. In some implementations, entry of particular keys using a keyboard coupled to the user device may initiate the instant unified search. The keyboard may be a physical keyboard or a virtual keyboard.

Instant unified search

An audio accessory comprising one or more speaker units may be used to provide audio output for a media device such as a tablet computer, smartphone, and so forth. The speaker units may be affixed to various surfaces, such as an acoustic panel which serves as a portion of a cover for the media device. The acoustic panel may act as an acoustic radiator which is driven by one or more of the speaker units. When not in use, a pair of the speaker units may be joined together for compact storage.

Reconfigurable audio drivers

A cover may be used in conjunction with a handheld device for physical protection of the handheld device. The cover may have an indicator that is responsive to a signal provided by the handheld device to display different colors or other visual states depending on conditions of the handheld device such as security modes, user modes, and so forth.

Described in this disclosure is an audio accessory comprising a speaker panel configured to be affixed to a media device such as a tablet computer, smartphone, and so forth. The speaker panel includes one or more speakers configured to provide audio output for the media device. The speaker panel may be configured to fold and act as a stand for the media device as well. In some implementations, the speakers may be detachable from the speaker panel.

A cover for an electronic device includes back cover, such as a tray, to receive the electronic device. The cover may also include a foldable flap that is foldable into a stand to support an electronic device held by the cover at one or more viewing angles oblique to a surface on which the cover is placed. The back cover and/or the foldable flap may include one or more activation mechanisms that, when moved relative to the electronic device, activate one or more functions of the electronic device (e.g., camera functions, display of information, etc.).
