A synchronization method can include: calculating a maximum anchor; and creating a sync action entry for a data record on a local machine, a data record on a remote machine, or a combination thereof, an action change number set to a greatest change number between a change number for the data record on the local machine and a change number for the data record on the remote machine, and a composite clock number set: to the maximum anchor based on the action change number of the sync action entry being less than the maximum anchor, and to the action change number of the sync action entry based on the action change number of the sync action entry being less than an action change number of a subsequent sync action entry and the action change number of the sync action entry being greater than the maximum anchor.

A method can include: calculating a maximum sync anchor change number; and creating a sync action entry, the sync action entry having a sync action change number and a composite change clock number, the composite change clock number set: to the maximum sync anchor change number when the sync action change number of the sync action entry is less than the maximum sync anchor change number, and to the sync action change number of the sync action entry when the sync action change number of the sync action entry is less than a sync action change number of a subsequent sync action entry and the sync action change number of the sync action entry is greater than the maximum sync anchor change number.

Data synchronization using a composite change clock

Methods, program products, and systems implementing dynamic parsing rules are disclosed. Log data from a variety of log producers can be parsed using parsing rules to generate information about an information system. The parsing rules can include system parsing rules and custom parsing rules. A state machine can be used to detect conflicts between various parsing rules. A central server can distribute the system parsing rules and custom parsing rules to one or more remote servers for distributed processing. In a hierarchical parsing system, a first tier parser can be used to identify types of sources generating the log data. Log data from each type of log source can be sent to a second tier parser that corresponds to the type of log source.

Dynamic parsing rules

A storage area network management and configuration system is provided. The system includes an enterprise network that has a plurality of computer systems, and some of the plurality of computer systems include a server component, some include a client component, and some include both the client component and the server component. The system also includes a storage enclosure that is connected to a computer system having at least the server component. A graphical user interface window is provided by the client component, and the graphical user interface provides a graphical representation and icon links to configuration tools for controlling the drives and arrays of the storage enclosure. In one aspect, the enterprise network can include a plurality of storage enclosures that are connected to selected computer systems that are part of the enterprise network and that have the server component. Through the configuration tools, any one of the drives in the storage enclosures can be configured into a particular RAID-based array, monitored for failures, and modified to meet different storage needs. The modification can, in one aspect, be performed by simply dragging configuration template icons over selected hardware storage devices.
