A query operation is performed to obtain information for a select entity of a computing environment. The information includes boost information of one or more boost features currently available for the select entity. The one or more boost features are to be used to temporarily adjust one or more processing attributes of the select entity. The boost information obtained from performing the query operation is provided in an accessible location to be used to perform one or more actions to facilitate processing in the computing environment.

Query and update of processor boost information

Detection of alteration of storage keys used to protect memory includes determining whether a storage key alteration event has occurred within a processor of a computing environment. The determining includes checking whether one or more selected fields of a storage key have been updated. The storage key is associated with a block of memory and controls access to the block of memory. Based on the checking indicating that the one or more selected fields of the storage key have been updated, a storage key alteration event has been detected. Based on determining the storage key alteration event has occurred, a notification is provided.

Detection of alteration of storage keys used to protect memory

Interrupt code conversion for efficient computer program recovery. In response to an error being detected while processing instructions of a computer program running on a computer system, the OS receives a first program interrupt code (PIC) and interrupts the computer program. Control of the computer program is passed to a program interrupt handler and the program interrupt handler inspects the first PIC issued as a result of detecting the error. The first PIC is converted to a second PIC wherein the second PIC is associated with another error predicted when subsequent running of the computer program occurs. The second PIC is presented to a recovery routine associated with the computer program and, in response to the detected error, running of the computer program is customized based on the second PIC rather than the first PIC.

Program interrupt code conversion

A computer-implemented method for switching between a full space and a subspace across multiple address spaces is described. A non-limiting example of the computer-implemented method includes determining, by a processor, that switching between the full space and the subspace is enabled by examining a bit in a control register. The method determines, by the processor, that there is a new context different from an existing context based on the bit in the control register indicating that switching is enabled and switches, by the processor, the context of the multiple spaces based on determining that the new context is different from the existing context.

Access to dynamic address translation across multiple spaces for operational context subspaces

A system includes a memory system and a processing system operably coupled to the memory system. The memory system includes a plurality of address spaces. The processing system is configured to perform operations including creating a data space from within a primary address space and a primary address space number access list entry referencing the data space. An unauthorized caller routine in a home address space configured to issue a service request including an address space-switching program call from the home address space to a program call target routine in the primary address space. The address space-switching program call references the primary address space number access list entry in the primary address space. A vulnerability identifier associated with the program call target routine is created and logged based on one or more conditions indicative of a cross-memory integrity violation detected responsive to the service request.

Embodiments of the present invention provide methods, program products, and systems for modifying source code by managing symbols indicating executable instructions. Embodiments of the present invention can be used to receive one or more symbols indicating executable instructions to be implemented via source code and generate a visual display comprising a dialog box supporting modification of source code that implements the executable instructions indicated by the one or more symbols. Responsive to receiving a user interaction with the dialog box resulting in modified source code, embodiments of the present invention can be used to generate modified source code or a representation of the modified source code that is shorter than the modified source code.
