A safety apparatus is provided for use in a procedure comprising at least first and second devices, wherein the first device and second device are for use in a medical procedure. The apparatus includes a disabling mechanism that is adapted to releasably retain and thereby prevent use of the said second device until release by a release procedure using the first device. A method is provided of carrying out a procedure comprising the steps of using the first device, applying the first device to a disabling mechanism to release the second device, and using the second device.

Safety apparatus

A safety warning system for detecting glucose in an arterial monitoring or flush system is disclosed. An example of the system comprises a receptacle configured to receive fluid from a line for connecting to a patient, and an indicator arranged to contact the fluid and configured to provide an indication of whether the fluid comprises glucose. The receptacle comprises a gas release path to enable the fluid to displace gas to contact the indicator.

Safety warning system

An anesthetic administration device comprising an infusion device, which is in fluid connection with a regional anesthetic needle by means of a feed tube. The infusion device comprises one or more anesthetic flow devices capable of triggering forward flow, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle. Forward, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle is controlled by a controller that comprises one or more actuator switches. The one or more actuator switches are positioned on the devicesuch that they may be operated by hand.

Regional anaesthesia injection apparatus

An airway tube (), an artificial airway device () for use in establishing an airway in a patient, and a method of manufacture are provided. The artificial airway device includes the airway tube for introduction into the patient's trachea for passage of gases to and from the patient's lungs. The airway tube defines a longitudinal axis, includes a flexible tube wall (), and is capable of bending so as to fit into a patient's airway. The airway tube includes a distal portion () and a proximal portion (), and is adapted such that all or a part of the proximal portion is relatively more resistant to bending out of the longitudinal axis than all or a part of the distal portion.

Airway tube

An apparatus for performing laryngoscopy is provided, the apparatus comprising a blade, a handle, and a medical gas supply device for provision of gas to a patient during laryngoscopy, wherein the medical gas supply device includes an outlet disposed on or in the handle of the device, or within the proximal half of the blade. A gas supply conduit supplies gas from a proximal aperture to outlet.
