A power tool includes an air spring cylinder. A piston is movably positioned within the cylinder. A head valve assembly of the power tool includes a flapper valve configured to seal the air spring cylinder from an air accumulator when the flapper valve is in a non-firing position.

A hand-held power tool, in particular a router, includes a machine housing and a support device for guiding the hand-held power tool on a workpiece. The support device has a carrier element, in which the machine housing is at least partially received and fastened. A foot plate which allows an insert tool, in particular a milling tool, to pass through and which is designed to bear against a workpiece is fastened to an end flange of the carrier element facing away from the machine housing. An edge guide for guiding the hand-held power tool along an edge of the workpiece is fastenable to the end flange of the carrier element. A groove is formed in the end flange. A fastening portion of a holding arm of the edge guide can be received interlockingly in the groove and can be fastened by means of at least one fastening element.

A power tool includes an air spring cylinder. A piston is movably positioned within the cylinder and a driver blade and a rack are attached to the piston. The power tool includes a lifter gear including a lifter gear wheel portion, and a plurality of teeth extending radially from the lifter gear wheel portion and configured to engage the rack. A hub includes a first end operably connected to a motor output and a second end including a hub wheel portion. A first receptacle is provided in one of the lifter gear and the hub and a first bearing element extends from the other of the lifter gear and the hub into the first receptacle. A first elastomeric damper is positioned within the first receptacle between the first bearing element and a bearing element defined portion of the first receptacle.

A power tool includes a tool housing and a mechanism disposed inside the tool housing. The tool housing has a composite structure that includes an outer layer and an inner layer. The outer layer provides an outer surface of the power tool housing and comprises a first material. The outer layer is an assembly of concave shell portions joined along parting lines. The inner layer is disposed on an inner surface of at least a portion of the outer layer so as to be disposed between the portion of the outer layer and the mechanism. The inner layer comprises a second material. The first material has a density that is at least three times the density of the second material. The inner layer has a peripheral edges that are offset relative to the parting lines such that the inner layer extends continuously across the parting lines.

An oscillating power tool includes a drive motor producing rotary motion and an actuator for converting the motor rotary motion to an oscillatory side-to-side movement. The power tool includes a tool mount operably driven by the actuator and configured to support the tool so that the working end is substantially collinear and/or coplanar with the axis of the motor drive shaft.

A base assembly for a power tool, such as a router, includes a base member, an adjustment mechanism, and a lock member. The base member is configured to accept a motor housing of the power tool. The adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust a position of the motor housing relative to the base member via rotation of a first contact portion of the adjustment mechanism. The lock member is moveable relative to the adjustment mechanism between a first position that prevents rotation of the adjustment mechanism and a second position that permits rotation of the adjustment mechanism. The lock member includes a second contact portion positioned proximate to the first contact portion and configured to be actuated to position the lock member in the second position. The position of the motor housing is adjusted by simultaneously actuating the first contact portion and the second contact portion.

A power tool includes a motor housing having a motor configured to rotate an output shaft about a drive axis and a gear housing defining a gear compartment. A pinion gear is supported by the gear housing that is coupled to the output shaft for rotation about the drive axis. A bevel gear is supported by the gear housing for rotation about a bevel axis and includes a geared portion that is meshingly engaged with the pinion gear. A crank pin extends from the same side of the bevel gear as the geared portion at a position offset from the bevel axis. An articulating housing is pivotably supported by the gear housing for pivotal movement about the bevel axis. A plunger member is supported by the articulating housing for reciprocating movement along a reciprocating axis. The plunger member includes a yoke end portion coupled to the crank pin.

An oscillating power tool includes a tool mount which can be articulated through a range of positions including less than zero degrees to ninety degrees. The tool mount can accept a variety of accessory tools which move in a reversing angular displacement as well as articulate throughout the range of positions. A locking mechanism is provided that can be manually actuated to prevent articulation or rotation of the articulator to thereby fix the tool mount to a pre-selected orientation.

An air compressor assembly includes a base assembly including a first air cylinder and a second air cylinder each to store compressed air therein. Portable air compressor assembly and associated method

A master cylinder has a body formed from a seamless cylindrical tube. Bosses are welded to an exterior sidewall portion of the tube and have passages communicating with the interior bore. An end cap closes one bore end and includes a passageway for supplying pressurized hydraulic fluid from the bore to individual wheel brake cylinders. The mating reservoir includes a pair of downwardly depending legs for attachment. A pair of bolts extend from a vacuum booster, pass through the reservoir mounting bolt apertures and engage the end cap of the body securing the resulting assembly to the vehicle.

A method of fastening a first member to a second member. The first member has a first opening with first left handed threads that extend from a first surface to a second surface. A stud having a shaft with a first section having right handed threads that extend from an end to a first groove, a second section with second left handed threads that extend from the first groove to a second groove adjacent a head and a radial surface that extends on an angle from the second groove toward a peripheral surface on the head is obtained from a supply source. The shaft is inserted into the first opening to engage the first and second left handed threads and an initial torque is applied to the head to bring the radial surface into engagement with the first left handed threads. Thereafter, additional torque is applied to the head to cause the radial surface to engage and deform a portion of the first left handed threads as the peripheral surface is moved into engagement with the second surface. A reversing torque is applied to the head to move the peripheral surface away from the second surface and permit the second end to pivot in a corresponding arc with respect to the axis of the first opening. A second member is obtained from a supply and a second opening therein is aligned with the second end of the shaft. A nut is placed on the right handed threads and an initial torque applied to the nut to bring the second housing into engagement with the first surface. Thereafter, a final torque is applied to the nut to cause the first and second left handed threads to corresponding rotate and bring the head into engagement with the second surface and create a desired compressive force between the nut and head to fasten the second member with the first member.
