A method and system of configuring a network using a network application of a mobile device including detecting a gesture sequence that comprises at least one gesture, in response to a user performed action. The detected gesture sequence may be indicative of network configuration rules associated with at least one network device. The method may further include receiving and storing network access credentials, and accessing a network configuration database. The network configuration database may comprise a plurality of gesture sequences and a plurality of associated tasks. The method may also include determining a match for the detected gesture sequence among the plurality of gesture sequences; determining an associated task based on the match; and performing the associated task to achieve the network configuration action. The associated task may include a network configuration action based on the network configuration rules associated with at least one network device.

System and method for network configuration and behavior control by proximity enabled devices

Methods and systems for identifying and locating assets. Data can be transmitted at regular intervals from a client to a server for processing by the server and stored in a database associated with the server. Such data characterizes the behavior of a user with respect one or more assets that communicate electronically with the server. Based on the data in the database, an indication of the status of the asset (or assets) can be determined. This indication is then utilized to assist in identifying and/or locating the asset.

A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for connecting a mobile device with an output device are disclosed. The method may be performed by a processor of a pairing server. For example, the method receives a request to connect the mobile device of an authenticated user to the output device, identifies the mobile device in a database comprising a register of authenticated users and one or more mobile devices of each one of the authenticated users, and transmits a configuration information and a connection information to the mobile device, wherein the configuration information causes the mobile device to modify a configuration of the mobile device and automatically connect to the output device based on the connection information.

Systems and methods for adapting a service provided based on a local taxonomy defining a local community of individuals are disclosed. The systems and methods involve a close proximity protocol used to detect and/or communicate with various mobile devices located within a certain range of a site location, and include a device that requests information from the mobile devices and a device that provides a service to the one or more users within range of the service-providing device. A local taxonomy is generated and evolved based on the dynamics of the local community of individuals (i.e. as individuals enter and exit the range of the system), and the service(s) provided is adapted as the local taxonomy changes.

A system server includes a memory and a processor in communication with the memory. The processor is configured to process a request to lower a security level of one or more communication channels of a secure communication system, where the request is responsive to a problem in the secure communication system. The processor is further configured to lower the security level. The processor is further configured to commence a timer to control an amount of time that the security level is to remain lowered.

Systems and methods for tracking large deployments of managed devices in a facility are disclosed. A tracking system is embedded into the managed devices, which may include, for example, printers, copiers, scanners, and multi-function devices (MFD). Location information is generated and maintained using an external server, and when a deployment location check event is triggered, a user of the device is prompted to confirm its deployment location and/or update its location information.

A proxy logger is a proxy or gateway between a Semantic Query/Certification tool and a Multifunction device, such as a multifunction printer. A user specifies the beginning and end points of a specific operation and the proxy logger records network requests and decrypts/encrypts the traffic. The method may be performed by a processor of a multi-function device. For example, the method receives a request to reproduce a document, calculates a perceptual hash of the document, transmits the perceptual hash of the document to a server, receives a control signal to halt reproduction of the document on the printing device in response to a perceptual hash of the secure data stored on the server matching at least a portion of the perceptual hash of the document, and halts the reproduction of the document on the printing device in response to the control signal.

A system may include a device having a program that includes a workflow system public key associated with a workflow system and programming instructions that allow the device to communicate with the workflow system over a communication network. The system may initialize a device by sending communications to the workflow system, receiving a response that includes information encrypted with a workflow system private key, and verifying the authenticity of the response by using the workflow system public key to decrypt the information in the response. The system may register the device for privacy treatment by the workflow system by generating a key pair that includes a client private key and a client public key, generating an encrypted client key by encrypting the client public key with the workflow system public key, including the encrypted client key in a privacy request, and sending the privacy request to the workflow system.

A method for providing guest access to a guest user for a network resource device based on proximity includes provisioning a plurality of network resource devices with a set of guest-on boarding information, receiving a request for guest access from a guest user for the network resource devices, determining if the guest user is within a certain distance of at least one of the network resource devices, and if the guest user is within the certain distance of at least one of the network resource devices identify each such network resource device as a proximate device. The method also includes providing a first set of guest on-boarding information to the guest user, via one of the proximate devices. The first set of guest on-boarding information includes a first unique identifier, and guest access credentials are provided to the guest user upon receipt of the first unique identifier.

System and method for automatically providing proximity based guest access to a network of resource devices

A method for printing a document from a mobile device includes identifying a document to be printed and generating a notification comprising a selection of at least one candidate print device that may be selected for printing. The notification may be generated by analyzing, by one or more mobile device applications, the document to be printed to identify a document context including a security level of the identified document; using data sensed by one or more mobile device sensors to identify a user context including at least a current geographical location of the user; using the user context to detect a print device near the geographical location of the user; and accessing a rule set to determine if the identified document can be printed on the detected print device based on the security level of the identified document; and causing a user interface to output the notification.

Disclosed herein is a paper based diagnostic device including a portable biomedical diagnostic device comprising, paper, wax, and reagents. The biomedical diagnostic device can analyze biochemical assays in test fluids such as blood, urine, and saliva. Diagnostic devices can include one or more of tracking information, personal identification information, security information, color calibration information, and environmental indicators. The security information can further include keys or codes identifying one or more unique characteristics. One aspect of the security information ensures that only predeterminable vendors are able to determine the results of a test from the diagnostic devices.

In a system for detecting location of an object inside of a building, an image capture device of a mobile electronic device captures an image of a boundary of a room in which the portable electronic device is positioned. The system extracts features of a boundary (ceiling, wall or floor) in the image to determine whether the mobile device is in a known location. When the system identifies a known location, it will take an action that provides the portable electronic device with additional functionality at the identified known location. Such functionality may include connecting to a wireless network or communicating with a stationary device at the known location.
