A scorotron used in xerography is connected to a voltage source within a printing apparatus through a pin. The pin is anchored in an insulative end block which defines channels therein, each channel enclosing a portion of a corona member which extends the length of the scorotron. Each corona member defines a specially-shaped opening, the openings of a plurality of corona members being aligned to accept the pin therethrough. A cover block is placed over the end block to complete the enclosure of the portions of the corona member. The cover block also defines a collar which surrounds a portion of the pin, and lugs on which a screen of the scorotron is mounted.

Connection assembly for a xerographic charging device

A replaceable toner cartridge for a printing apparatus includes a waste toner auger rotationally driven by a printer drive gear. The auger includes a drive element for engaging the printer drive gear. The auger drive element includes drive paddles extending radially from the auger shaft. Each drive paddle has a radial edge adjacent an inclined radial face surface, so that the as the auger drive element and the printer drive gear axially engage one another, the drive paddles of the auger drive element and the gear lobes of the printer drive gear slide along one another until the auger drive element and the printer drive gear solidly engage one another. Each drive paddle also has an extension perpendicular to the radial direction of the paddle to increase the spacing between the axial engagement surface of the printer drive gear and the radial edge of the drive element paddle.

An improved substrate guide member and an improved method of manufacturing the same wherein slits are cut at the base of raised relief ribs prior to drawing such ribs. The result is a flatter and less expensive substrate guide member without the need for supplemental straightening processes.

In a xerographic printing apparatus, a blade is used to clean the surface of a rotating photoreceptor. At an end of the blade is disposed a flexible sealing member. The sealing member includes a bulk portion, one part of which contacts the surface of the photoreceptor and another part of which is attached to a stationary surface. Extending from the bulk portion is a tab which defines a diagonal edge. A portion of the diagonal edge contacts a surface of the blade.

A printing apparatus includes a guide member for directing sheets toward a transfer zone. The guide member defines a set of ribs which hold the sheets above the main surface of the guide member. Thus, any stray marking material which lands on the guide member is relatively unlikely to contact a sheet moving over the guide member.
