A support for a pad computer and the like includes a body support strap which may be placed around the neck or shoulders of a user, and a body propping unit that positions a computer outwardly from the torso of the user. The body support strap connects to the body propping member preferably at a location proximately aligned with the center of gravity of the combined mass of the computer and computer support when the body popping member is deployed in its stand-off position. In a preferred variant the body propping member is a U-shaped strut assembly with two arms joined by a bridge. The body support strap connects to the arms. The arms are hinged at the sides of the computer. The bridge may be swung from an in-use orientation spacing the computer outwardly from a user, to a parked position wherein the bridge lies adjacent to an opposite transverse edge of the computer in the plane of the computer.

Portable computer support

A dual-mode screwdriver has a manual and powered actuation mode achieved by inverting the screwdriver body. The screwdriver has a driveshaft having two ends each adapted for receiving the shank of a screwdriver bit. The body contains a plurality of slots for storing a plurality of screwdriver bits. Magnets are contained in each of the slots for retaining the bits within their respective slots. The outside surface of the body is contoured for hand gripping and torquing. The driveshaft is adapted for coupling to a powered drill.

Multi-bit, dual-mode screwdriver for either manual or powered actuation

A video camera mounted on a parking enforcement patrol vehicle and connected to a computer near the operator. The system is driven along a patrol route where parked vehicles are governed by a posted time limit. The system enforces the local parking regulation by automatically determining whether or not each parked car has been parked longer than the posted time limit. Violations are detected by applying a License Plate Recognition algorithm to the images. Each license plate number is time-tagged, geo-referenced and entered into a local database. When the patrol vehicle re-traces the patrol route after the posted parking time limit has expired, the database is searched to flag vehicles that were observed at the same location during the previous circuit and therefore in violation of the parking regulations. When the system detects a parking violation, it prints a parking citation that the operator affixes to the offending parked vehicle.

Parking regulation enforcement system

A trigger lock for a firearm lock is disclosed comprising a trigger lock body having a trigger blocking portion. The trigger blocking portion has a head and a body for placement behind the trigger to prevent rearward movement of the trigger to a firing position. The trigger lock body includes a flange adjacent to and integral with the trigger blocking portion for positioning in an abutting relationship with the trigger guard thereby preventing lateral and twisting movement of the trigger blocking portion once placed behind the trigger. There is provided at least one shoulder portion extending laterally from the head of the body beyond the corresponding side of the trigger guard when the body is placed behind the trigger to resisting twisting motion. The trigger lock body mounts to a shackle of a padlock so that the body and padlock shackle to which it is mounted forms a unitary trigger guard for insertion behind the trigger.

Trigger lock

A bicycle stand, which includes a prop that may be attached to a bicycle pedal. Attachment of the prop to the pedal may be by a &ldquo;socket-bolt&rdquo; having a hole in one end and a threaded hole in the other. The socket-bolt replaces the lock nut normally located on the bearing spindle of a pedal. In one embodiment, the socket and prop may include socket and prop having the same polygonal cross section thereby preventing rotational instability of the inserted prop-member. The prop-member may be substantially &ldquo;L&rdquo; shaped, thereby providing a ground contact point located below and outboard of the pedal. When the pedal assembly is rotated near its lowest point, the bicycle can be securely tilted onto the prop-member. The prop-member may also be configured to serve as a lever that applies torque to standard mechanic's toolbits.

Pedal mounted bicycle stand

A portable light fixture which illuminates the volume of water in a swimming pool has the light source and all attendance electrical hardware mounted above the water's surface to avoid the normal measures required to waterproof the light. Light is projected downward into the water through a light shaft which hangs over the edge of the pool and extends down below the water line. The shaft and light element enclosure is opaque. Light travels down the light shaft, traverses the air/water boundary and then exits the light shaft below the water line to a reflective light diffuser suspended within or directly below the shaft exit. The light diffuser spreads the beam away from the pool wall by reflecting the vertical rays exiting the light shaft into a diffuse horizontal beam which then propagates throughout the swimming pool.
