A high performance computing strategy along with the capability to integrate various layers of data within a modeling framework incorporates various tools such as ambient noise, vessel and animal data to measure acute and chronic noise levels, detect and classify marine mammal vocalizations, and compute various metrics such as receive levels, signal excess, masking and communication space over relatively large temporal and spatial scales.

System and methods of acoustic monitoring

A process for contextual analysis of radiographic image data can be embodied as a method, system, and computer software program, among other things. The process can include receiving a radiographic image and performing a region analysis including identifying a region within the radiographic images having an estimated atomic number within a predetermined range and determining if the region is in an expected location. The process can also include performing a material feature analysis to identify whether a feature present in the radiographic image is associated with an obscuration characteristic. The process can include providing context information and generating, as output, a region of interest in the radiographic image, the region of interest being determined based upon a set of rules and the region analysis, the material feature analysis, and the context information.

Material context analysis

A system and method for achieving constant magnification of a scanned three-dimensional item without the use of special optics or other specialized hardware. The system includes the dynamic computation of a camera parameter-dependent factor and applying that factor in real-time to the sampled signal resulting from the scan of the item.

Constant magnification imaging method and system

A method and computer product is disclosed for arbitrating the outputs of a plurality of recognizers to select a hypothesis associated with a given input from a plurality of hypotheses. Fuzzy membership states are assigned to respective candidate outputs of the plurality of recognizers. At least one rule is selected according to the assigned fuzzy membership states. A selected rule provides a determined amount of support mass for an associated one of the plurality of hypotheses and a determined amount of uncertainty mass. A support value for each hypothesis and an overall uncertainty are determined from the provided mass values. A hypothesis having a highest support value while having an acceptable low level of uncertainty is selected.

Cognitive arbitration system

A system and method for collecting relatively high resolution amplitude data with a conventional sensing device from a signal source that is sampled at a relatively low characteristic scan resolution, and then generating relatively high scan resolution, relatively low resolution amplitude data through real-time application of up-sampling and quantization algorithms. The resulting relatively high scan resolution, relatively low resolution amplitude data closely approximate the image quality resulting from a sensing device operating at a much higher scan resolution, using a conventional data collection system. The invention relates generally to systems that collect the high resolution amplitude data that must be converted to low resolution amplitude data in order to maximize throughput rates.
