Disclosed is a valve assembly, having: a valve duct having an upstream end, a downstream end and a duct wall extending from the upstream end to the downstream end; a first conduit extending from a first end at the valve duct to a second end spaced apart from the first end, the first conduit terminating at a valve assembly component; and a washing filter that includes filer media, wherein the filter media extends into the valve duct to remove particles and provide a clean flow to the first conduit.

A manual positioning assembly for connection to a shaft of a valve configured to manually manipulate a disc of the valve between an open and closed position. The manual valve positioning assembly includes a housing having a first and a second end. The first end includes a flange configured for fastening the housing to the valve. The second end includes a conical feature. An alignment bushing within the second end of the housing and a double universal joint. The double universal joint includes a first end and a second end. The first end of the double universal joint is configured to be mechanically fastened to the shaft of the valve. The second end is positioned within the alignment bushing and includes a socket configured to receive a tool that manually turns the double universal joint, the shaft, and the disc to position the disc in the open or closed position.

An inline valve includes a sliding piston having a radially outer stop portion with a forward end. A radially inner sliding portion is connected to the radially outer stop portion by an arm. A housing includes an outer housing body surrounding the piston. The housing has a stop surface selectively in contact with the forward end of the radially outer stop portion of the piston to block flow for a housing inlet to a housing outlet. The radially inner sliding portion slides on a support tube. At least a portion of the radially inner sliding portion is formed of a first material having better wear resistance than a second material forming the outer stop portion of the piston. The second material has a greater resistance to high temperature and pressure than the first material. A vent valve for a compressor is also disclosed.

A pneumatic controller includes a manifold, a selector, and a biasing member. The manifold has a low pressure port, a high pressure port, an actuator port, and a vent. The selector is movable within the manifold between a first position and a second position, the low pressure port in fluid communication with the actuator port in the first position, the high pressure port in fluid communication with the actuator port in the second position. The biasing member is supported within the manifold and urges the selector towards the first position, wherein the low pressure port is in fluid communication with the vent in both the first position and the second position to cool the biasing member with low pressure fluid received at the low pressure port. Inline valves, gas turbine engines, and methods of controlling fluid flow through inline valves are also described.

A controller for an inline valve includes a manifold seating a set screw and has a reference fluid port, a control fluid port, and an actuator fluid port. A selector is movable within the manifold between a first position and a second position, the reference fluid port in fluid communication with the actuator fluid port in the first position, the control fluid port in fluid communication with the actuator fluid port in the second position. A biasing member is arranged between the selector and the set screw and urges the selector towards the first position. The set screw extends through an exterior of the manifold for adjustment of differential in pressures at the reference fluid port and the control fluid port responsive to which the selector moves between the first position and the second position. Inline valves and methods of controlling fluid flow through inline valves are also described.

An inline valve includes a valve body, a valve member, and a control manifold. The valve body has an exterior, an inlet, and an outlet. The valve member is supported within the valve body and is movable between a first position and a second position. The inlet in fluid communication with the outlet while the valve member is in the first position and the inlet fluidly separated from the outlet while the valve member is in the second position. The control manifold is supported by the valve body, has a reference fluid port and a control fluid port, and is in pneumatic communication with the valve member through the valve body exterior to passive movement of the valve member according to pressure at the valve body inlet. Gas turbine engines and methods of controlling valves are described.

A pneumatic controller for an inline valve includes a manifold with a set screw seated within it, a selector, and a biasing member. The manifold has a low pressure port, a high pressure port, and an actuator port. The selector is movable within the manifold between a first position and a second position, the low pressure port in fluid communication with the actuator port in the first position, the high pressure port in fluid communication with the actuator port in the second position. The biasing member urges the selector towards the first position with a biasing force and is spaced apart from the selector to limit eccentric force exerted on the selector. Inline valves and methods of controlling fluid flow through inline valves are also described.

An assembly includes a housing along a fluid line through which gas can flow with the housing having an annular shape, a housing groove extending circumferentially around a radial interior, and a sense hole adjacent the housing groove in a bottom side of the housing; and a piezometer ring disposed within the housing groove and coaxial with the housing. The piezometer ring includes a ring groove extending circumferentially around a radially outer side adjacent the housing and a plurality of ring holes extending radially through the piezometer ring with the plurality of ring holes including two bottom holes closest to the bottom side of the housing that are spaced farther apart from one another than from adjacent holes of the plurality of ring holes.

A connector link for use in an actuation system for a butterfly valve has a central web extending between two generally cylindrical ends. There are bores formed in each of two generally cylindrical ends and bushings extend axially upwardly from a nominal face at each of the ends. One of the ends has a bore formed at a radius defined as a first distance. A distance between center points of the bores in the first and second ends is defined as a second distance. The ratio of the second distance to the first distance is greater than or equal to 19.2772 and less than or equal to 19.4125. A valve and method are also disclosed.

A thrust plate for a butterfly valve includes a thrust plate body that defines a recess. The recess extends between a bottom thrust surface, side walls and an open top. A wear-resistant coating is located on the bottom thrust surface.

A flow diverting valve includes a body having a concave spherical surface, a flange traversing a perimeter of the body, and a hinge connected to the flange and configured to rotate about a pivot axis.

A valve is provided. The valve includes a body defining an interior and apertures, additional bodies each having opposed, open ends and being respectively coupled to each of the apertures at one of the respective open ends to define a flow path through each of the additional bodies and into the interior and a valve member. The valve member is disposable in first and second positions in the interior. In the first position, the valve member fluidly couples pairs of the additional bodies with one another via first combined flow paths that crisscross through the interior. In the second position, the valve member fluidly couples different pairs of the additional bodies with one another via second combined flow paths that are substantially parallel through the interior.

A piston includes an outer shell having a receptacle at one end and a link retainer. The link retainer is configured to be positioned within the receptacle and affixed to the outer shell. The link retainer and the outer shell each define an opposing wall of a sealing ring groove, and one of the link retainer and the outer shell has an outer surface defining a base of the sealing ring groove.

A butterfly valve comprises a housing including a bore, a rotatable shaft passing through the bore, a disc mounted to the shaft for controlling the flow of a fluid through the bore, a thrust load reacting section and a wear interface. The thrust load reacting section includes a thrust plug assembled in a thrust reacting end of the shaft and a thrust plate secured to the housing. The thrust plate has a well for axially retaining the thrust plug and the thrust reacting end of the shaft. The wear interface includes a first contact region on the thrust plug with a first contact surface and a second contact region at the base of the well with a second contact surface. A portion of the first contact surface is spherical and in contact with a portion of the second contact surface.

A variable pitch propulsor system with a propeller pitchlock system having a pitchlock solenoid valve located in communication with a pitchlock pressure circuit to selectively actuate pitchlocking in response to a controller. The pitchlock solenoid valve includes an electro-mechanical device which is normally closed but may be commanded to electrically open and dump the pitchlock pressure which causes actuation of the pitchlock system. The pitchlock solenoid provides a mechanism which will selectively pitchlock the propulsor system; permits a built in test routine to determine the condition of the pitchlock system through a commanded propeller pitchlock sequence; requires no mechanical link between the rotating and non-rotating propeller components to initiate pitchlock; is independent of engine and gearbox configurations; and can initiate pitchlock remotely with a signal from a remote location.
