A modular bunk cover apparatus and system for protecting the hull of a watercraft from abrasive contact with a bunk, such as the bunks found on boat trailers, boat lifts, boat storage racks, and the like. The modular bunk cover apparatus and system can be installed on an existing bunk without removing the bunk from the trailer or other structure. The modular bunk cover apparatus and system facilitates easy launching and loading of a boat on a trailer or boat lift. The system is a replacement for carpet systems that tend to degrade over time, eventually falling off the bunk and subsequently creating a hazard for marine life, birds, and mammals.

A method and apparatus for forming and mounting a sleeve and a thrust member in a bore in a motor/gear drive housing shaft to support the motor/gear drive shaft against radial and axial movement. Gates are formed in the motor/gear drive housing and communicate with separate first and second bores in the housing. A mold core is inserted into the housing and closes off one bore to allow the injection of molten plastic into a cavity formed between the tip end portion of the mold core and the first bore to form an annular sleeve. The annular sleeve has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the end tip portion of the motor/gear drive shaft to be nominally spaced from the outer diameter of the drive shaft, but is supportingly engaged by the drive shaft under radial deformation of the drive shaft. Insertion of the drive shaft into the housing causes the tip end portion of the drive shaft to sealing close the second bore in the housing allowing the injection of molten plastic into the second bore to form a thrust member axially engaged with the end of the drive shaft to resist axial movement of the drive shaft during operation.

A system and method for sealing a pressure area in a washer pump is disclosed. The system and method provides designed interference and contact points between a plurality of adjacent walls which are arranged to define a serpentine channel and which are integrally molded into a pump housing and a motor housing. At least one of the plurality of walls becomes biased in response to fluid pressure in a pressure area such that it engages one or more of the plurality of walls in the mating housing to provide at least one seal to seal the pressure area. The walls may be provided with a beveled edge to facilitate providing a 'point contact' to enhance sealing. The system and method reduce or entirely eliminate the need for an O-ring between, for example, the pump housing and the motor housing.

A system and method for manufacturing and/or molding a plurality of parts, such as a sleeve bearing and a roller bearing, into a predetermined position in the housing wiper motor comprising a component such as a housing. The wiper motor comprises a motor housing, a plurality of bearings integrally insert molded into a predetermined position in the motor housing and a motor situated in the motor housing and having a plurality of shafts which are received in the plurality of bearings. The method for molding a motor housing for use in the vehicle comprises the steps of situating at least one part, such as the sleeve bearing, into a mold for molding the motor housing and then insert molding the housing such that the at least one part becomes integrally formed or molded into a predetermined position therein. In a preferred embodiment, the part is molded into the housing such that it is aligned within a tolerance range of about -0.05 mm to +30 0.05 mm. The housing is then assembled with a motor, and the assembled housing and motor may then be used in a vehicle.
