A system for analyzing data, such as data representing samples of a received wireless signal, includes a memory controller for storing the data in one or more memory devices, a metadata extractor for extracting metadata in real-time from the data as it is being processed for storage, and one or more processors for analyzing the metadata to identify portions of the stored data having a characteristic of interest, and for processing the identified portions of the stored data.

Method and system of signal analysis by using metadata

A method of detecting a trigger event includes receiving an input signal for analysis. The received input signal is used to generate first data corresponding to sequential sets of spectral output data sets, at least some of the spectral output data sets corresponding to sample points in time acquired from the input signal as the input signal changes with time. At least part of the first data is then compared with second data, the second data corresponding to a predetermined sequential set of signature spectral data sets corresponding to a time-varying spectrum associated with a trigger event. A trigger signal is then generated in response to a change in a state of match between the at least part of first and second data.

Trigger event detection apparatus and method therefor

Using component-level test data to reduce system test. By modeling a system, sensitivity analysis reveals critical components and parameters of those components required to meet system performance parameters. Critical components are tested for these parameters, and these measurements associated with the components. Systems may be assembled which are modeled to meet the system performance parameters based on the model and the measured parameters. Systems may be assembled and calibration coefficients derived and applied from the model and the measured parameters.

Using component-level calibration data to reduce system-level test

An apparatus for testing cellular base stations is provided. A base station tester is connected to a control link between the base station controller and the cellular base station to receive the fixed signal. The fixed link signal contains a voice channel and a control channel that may be selectively monitored by the base station tester. The base station tester is also connected to the radio frequency (RF) output of the cellular base station to receive the RF signal from the cellular base station. Both the RF signal and the fixed link signal are obtained in a non-invasive manner such that the cellular base station may remain in service during the testing process. By monitoring the fixed link directly, the base station tester may evaluate directly the reaction of the cellular base station with its RF signal to the commands received from the fixed link to perform parametric transmitter measurements. The base station tester may further compare the information received from the voice channel with the information contained in the RF signal to perform parametric receiver measurements.
