An office-type chair including a back support having a suspension mesh back support and a back support frame. The suspension mesh back support has an integral retaining channel disposed at a peripheral edge thereof, and the back support frame includes a central pair of upright support posts and wedge base for mounting to a chair frame. The back support frame includes a plurality of flexible and spaced support arms extending laterally outward from the upright support posts. The support arms each have a peripheral edge configured for fastenerless attachment in a tensioned state within the suspension mesh retaining channel. An upholstery cover encapsulates the suspension mesh and back support frame. The office chair also includes a lumbar mechanism including a resilient cushion that may be positioned in the space between the suspension mesh and the support frame and adjusted along the vertical extent of the back support by rolling the resilient cushion on the rear of the suspension mesh.

Back support for a chair

An office-type chair includes a base, a height-adjustable pedestal extending upward from the base, a seat assembly including a rear seat part and a front seat part, and a linkage system connecting the pedestal to the seat assembly. The linkage system is adapted to pivot the seat assembly between a lowered position to serve as a task chair and an elevated position to serve as an elevated sitting support. A backrest arrangement may extend from the seat assembly. In the lowered position, the front and rear seat parts are both generally horizontally oriented. In the elevated position, the rear seat part may have a slight forward tilt and be positioned higher than in the lowered position, and the front seat part may extend at a downward angle relative to the rear seat part.

Lumbar support for a chair

A seat has a first ischial region, a second ischial region, a tailbone region and a thigh transitional region, each having at least one slot. Each slot generally opens outward, away from a center of the seat. Each slot may have an elongated central portion and two distal portions extending from the central portion. The central portion and distal portions may have a specific configuration relative to each other to provide desired support characteristics. The slots may allow flexing and cantilevering of portions of the seat to dynamically contour the seat based on the weight of the user.

Multiple grooves may be included at the front of the seat to facilitate curling of the front of the seat.

A space-dividing wall panel has glass panels mounted on opposite faces of the wall panel to permit viewing therethrough. Each glass panel is defined by a sheet of glass and edge rails extending about the periphery of the glass. The edge rails include fixing channels on opposite sides thereof which are press-fit onto respective edges of the glass without the use of a resilient gasket within the fixing channel.

A storage cabinet employing a door formed in one monolithic piece from a thin sheet of light-weight but relatively rigid material, such as compressed resin-bonded plastic fibers. The door has a pair of panels, such as upper and lower door panels, integrally joined through a living hinge.

A furniture component arrangement includes a ganging bracket useful for securing a pair of adjacent flanges of adjacent office furniture components in a workstation. The ganging bracket includes ganging parts that are designed for positioning about flanges projecting outwardly from a back wall extending along a length of an office furniture component. The ganging parts each include a male section including a flange slot, a female section forming a female slot, and a vertical offset joining the male section and the female section. The ganging parts also include a substantially identical second ganging part. Each of the ganging parts also includes a channel, aligned with the vertical offset and extending along a portion of the ganging part.
