Detecting manipulation of an SCR catalytic converter system of a motor vehicle. A control command () for the SCR catalytic converter system, transmitted from a control unit outside the motor vehicle, is received by the motor vehicle. Manipulation is detected () if a response () of the SCR catalytic converter system to the execution () of the control command () does not correspond to expectation. Embodiments also relate to monitoring manipulation of the SCR catalytic converter system. Here, a control command () for the SCR catalytic converter system is transmitted () to the motor vehicle () from a control unit () outside the motor vehicle.

Procedures for diagnosing an exhaust gas treatment device, which is dosing a reagent into the exhaust gas area of a combustion process, whereby the reagent is brought up to a dosing pressure and subsequently dosed, at which the diagnosis is undertaken with the aid of an evaluation of a pressure drop of the reagent, and a device for implementing the procedure are suggested. After turning off the pump a pressure drop that occurs afterwards is evaluated. The evaluation of the pressure drop considers a leakage loss of the pump.

Procedure for diagnosing an exhaust gas treatment device and device for implementing the procedure

Suggested are a procedure for diagnosing a metering valve () of an exhaust gas treatment device (), which doses a reagent () into the exhaust gas area () of a combustion process, whereby the reagent () is brought to a metering pressure (p_Ds) by a pump () and which is dosed by the metering valve (), at which the diagnosis is undertaken by evaluating a pressure drop () of the reagent (), and a device for implementing the procedure. At first the pump () is switched off. Subsequently the metering is continued during a diagnosis metering operation. The reagent quantity (m) that has been dosed is determined during the diagnosis metering operation. Not until reaching a dosing quantity threshold (m_Lim) the evaluation of the pressure drop () is terminated.
