The prior art discloses machines which, for cooling the surface to be machined, have a gas supply line which opens into a gas outlet which is in the direct vicinity of the polishing disk. When CO.sub.2 is used as cooling gas, stoppages, which can be traced back to snow formation of the CO.sub.2, may occur in the line and in the gas outlet. In order to avoid blockages, the machine is assigned means for the supply of the liquid or supercritical CO.sub.2 which comprise a valve for regulating the throughflow quantity of the CO.sub.2 with an expansion nozzle, the valve being arranged inside the machine.

Machine for polishing and/or grinding

Molded parts are deburred by being cooled down and treated with an abrasive. The parts are cooled down and circulated by a conveying gas which circulates in a circulation chamber, while the parts are treated with an abrasive introduced into the circulation chamber.

Device to deburr molded parts subject to low-temperature brittleness

Cold-embrittled parts are surface treated by an abrasive jet through the use of an arrangement which includes as a centrifuge wheel. The centrifuge wheel is self-priming and is connected to a granulate collecting tank via a suction pipe with a spray nozzle for low boiling liquefied gas being arranged in the inlet zone of the suction pipe. The resulting abrasive jet pattern is of the same shape and size as the treatment surface.

Device and method for the surface treatment of cold-embrittled parts

A centrifugal throwing blast wheel is made of two discs which are spaced from each to form a V-shaped outwardly widening slot forming an angle .alpha.. Sets of diametrically opposed ejection vanes are between the discs. One set has straight throwing faces. Another set has concave faces with a curvature axis inclined toward the plane of rotation at an acute angle greater than .alpha./2. A third set has curved faces inclined toward the other side of the plane of rotation.
