A parallel drive for escalators or moving sidewalks is located within the region of reversal and inside the rotating step or pallet belt, the drive including with electric motor, gearing, step or pallet drive apparatus and handrail drive apparatus. The apparati are driven by the drive shafts of a drive unit comprising electric motor and planetary gearing arranged with their axes parallel to the axes of driven shafts of the step or pallet drive and the handrail drive.

Roller-path system for the transportation of persons and goods, having an endless tread-plate band reversed around a horizontal axis as well as either a freely supported or a roller supported traction chain and self-supporting tread plates, each plate having two pull and two drag support-rod parts arranged close to the slate corners, respectively, opposite each other, where these plates can either directly support themselves, freely supporting rollers and the pull support-rod parts in addition to the traction chain, or can indirectly support themselves, having the pull support-rod parts mounted in traction chains with intermediate rollers and fork-shaped tread-plate resting elements which are attached by drag support-rod parts. The support-rod parts are provided as replaceably arranged system-adaptable pull and drag bolts.

Person-conveying device of quiet operating design having a step-belt or pallet belt which is guided in guide rails by transport chains with step-chain or pallet-chain rollers as well as chain-guide rollers, the points of contact of the step-chain or pallet-chain rollers with the travel surface being spaced from the lateral guide surface of the guide rail.

A driving unit for driving the circulating step band of escalators which is arranged inwardly of the step band and includes an electric motor, a transmission and a hand rail drive. The output shaft of the transmission simultaneously serves as main drive shaft for the step band. The electric notor has a housing which is formed by a rotor which is journalled in an overhung manner on the input shaft of the transmission. The torque of the transmission is absorbed through the intervention of a torque support by a handrail drive shaft which is driven by a chain or a gear transmission.

Driving unit for escalators for driving the step band

Conveyor, especially autowalks for persons, with endless inner and outer link chains and pallet carriages arranged between these chains and having opposite ends respectively connected to these chains. Both chains are driven in synchronism either by two coaxial gears or by a reversing gear pertaining to the inner chain and deviating gears pertaining to the outer chain and intermediate gear means between the reversing gear for the inner chain and one of the deviating gears for the outer chain.
