An x-ray filter which produces a uniform distribution of the image contrast and the image brightness, with an optimally reduced skin dose has a pre-filter for the total x-ray beam and an edge filter, which leaves free a central region of the x-ray beam. The pre-filter is made of a material having an atomic number less than 60, such as copper, and the edge filter is made of a material having an atomic number between 64 and 77.

A medical diagnostics installation, such as an x-ray angiography installation, has a number of separate treatment and data-acquisition components, all of which are connected to a central work station having an operating area accessible by a single user for central operation and monitoring of all components. Data acquisition, storage and distribution of the patient data take place at the work station using monitors. Data flow, for example parameters for obtaining an optimum image quality, can thereby be coordinated at one location.

A transmission link which couples data from a mobile x-ray apparatus to image electronics is provided with a data coupling, and a data plug is allocated to the x-ray apparatus and a data socket is allocated to the image electronics, such that data may be transmitted between the x-ray apparatus and the image electronics. The transmission link can include wireless transmission of image data from a mobile x-ray diagnostic apparatus, with an optical transmitter allocated to the x-ray apparatus and a wireless receiver allocated to the image electronics.

In the exemplary disclosure, a signal transmitter and a signal processing part, which are interconnectable in the signal path by means of a contact plug, have a galvanically separative coupling location in the signal path with primary and secondary coupling members. The object is to design a plug-in connection that demonstrates a particularly good insulation effect. This is achieved in that of any given two inter-associated primary and secondary coupling members one of the two coupling members is disposed in the contact plug part on the side of the signal processing part and the other is disposed in the corresponding plug-in contact part of the signal transmitter so that upon establishment of the plug contact between the signal transmitter and the signal processing part the coupling members join together in spatial proximity as primary and secondary coupling members to form a coupling location.
