A multi-plate clutch, particularly for a dual clutch transmission, has at least one clutch housing alternately holds externally and internally toothed plate disks, a hub arranged at the end face on the clutch housing. The hub has a central opening for receiving a gear shaft and openings disposed to reduce weight. Additional openings are provided in the lateral surface of the clutch basket, with at least a portion of the openings distributed over at least a section of the configured as triangular recesses.

A differential for the axle drive of a motor vehicle has a cage in the interior of which the axle shaft gears are guided and on which they are supported. For absorbing the forces acting in the direction of the axle drive shafts, the cage is made of a tube section and has at least two diametrical bores for the receiving and leadthrough of the axle drive shafts. As a result, the differential can be manufactured with a reduced weight and lower cost while having a high stiffness.

A differential housing is made up of many parts composed of deep-drawn readily shapable steel sheets. A conical bearing part jacket receives a differential pin and one differential gear. A cover inserted into an opening in the jacket bears an additional differential gear. The housing parts and a drive gear fastened thereto are all connected permanently with one another.

A pinion shaft of an axle drive bevel pinion mating with a bevel gear is disposed in two tapered roller bearings, the joint outer race of which is flanged onto the axle housing. In order to lubricate the tapered roller bearings with splash oil and avoid dirt deposits in the bearing area, the outer race of the tapered roller bearings has an oil feeding duct to a collecting pipe arranged above, and at its underside, an oil return duct to the transmission oil sump.

A bearing of an idler gear of an all-wheel transfer transmission that mates with a drive gear wheel and an output gear wheel to one vehicle axle is provided with a bush that is clamped in between two housing walls. The idler gear is disposed on tapered roller bearings which are disposed on the bush. A screw that passes centrally through the bush is tightened by a nut and as a result braces the inner races of the tapered roller bearings and places the tapered rollers without play against the running surfaces of the idler gear.
