A remote speaker microphone (RSM) unit enables a user to use either a headset or an in-ear speaker with the RSM unit. The RSM unit includes a first RSM connection for communicating and connectable with the first connection of the headset; and a second RSM connection for communicating and connectable with the second connection of the in-ear speaker. Connecting either the headset or the in-ear speaker to the RSM unit disables the speaker and microphone of the RSM unit. At least one of the first and second connections are wireless, e.g., Bluetooth or NFC, and at least one of the first and second RSM connections are wireless connections communicable with the first and second connections, respectively. In addition or the alternative, at least one of said first connection and said second connection are electrical plugs and at least one of said first and second RSM connections are corresponding electrical jacks.

Remote speaker microphone unit for use with headset

A multi-configurable headset support apparatus is provided, having at least one earcup having front-facing and rear-facing posts. First and second suspension wires and a helmet mount are each provided with loops at opposite ends that are attachable to the earcup posts. A support band is securable to the suspension wires. When the first suspension wire is attached to the posts and the support band is secured to the first suspension wire, the support band is attached in an upward configuration atop a wearer's head. When the second suspension wire is attached to the posts and the support band is secured to the second suspension wire, the support band is attached in a rearward configuration on the back of the wearer's head. The posts are preferably retractably spring-biased into the earcup; the spring force secures the loop disposed on the post shaft against the earcup via the post head.

Multi-configurable headset support apparatus

A dual radio PTT system includes two PTT buttons that are located on two separate elements, such as small boxes, that are connected by separate cables to the radio interface box. The PTT buttons, can, if desired, be physically placed (located) on the user's body at one or more locations different from the electrical interface box.

A headset includes two earcups that overlie and seal around the wearer's ears. The headset includes a system for suspension of the earcups on a helmet, as well as a speaker enclosure that provides increased structural strength without taking up additional space on the board. The headset also includes a battery compartment that can accept either one of two different size batteries to power the electrical components of the headset.

A hearing protection headset that can be worn by a user includes left and right earcups. The headset includes a radio communication system enabling at least one radio signal to be received and played through one or both of the earcups. Noise control circuitry in the headset is configurable by a user between at least three active modes of operation&#x2014;the circuitry having a first active mode in which the headset provides automatic noise reduction, a second active mode in which the headset provides automatic noise cancellation, and a third active mode in which the headset provides both automatic noise reduction and automatic noise cancellation. A switch is manually operable by the user to configure the circuitry between the first active mode and the second active mode and the third active mode.
