An aluminum-free antiperspirant/deodorant composition is disclosed. The antiperspirant/deodorant may include an oil-in-water emulsion base and an antiperspirant active dispersed in the oil-in-water emulsion base. The antiperspirant active may be primarily a zinc-based antiperspirant active and the oil-in-water emulsion base may include an emulsifier comprising a mixture of steareth-2 and steareth-20; a plant-based oil, a polyol, and water.

Aluminum-free antiperspirant / deodorant compositions

An antiperspirant/deodorant composition in the form of stick, cream, or flowable gel may include a carrier that may include a polyhydric alcohol or a mixture of a polyhydric alcohol and water; a thickening agent including a Cfatty acid salt; and an antiperspirant active dispersed in the carrier. The antiperspirant active may include a layered silicate clay and/or an acyl substituted polyvinylpyrrolidone. The antiperspirant/deodorant composition may be primarily free of a Cmonohydric alcohol and a metal salt based antiperspirant active, such as aluminum-based antiperspirant active.

A personal care composition, comprising a soluble zinc polyphosphate complex made by combining ingredients comprising an organic zinc salt, a plurality of long chain polyphosphates having 6 or more phosphate polymer units, and an aqueous solvent; wherein the relative amount of organic zinc salt and long chain polyphosphates provides a phosphorus to zinc mole ratio of at least 6:1. Also, a method of using the composition for reducing at least one of perspiration or body odor.

High efficacy, low irritation aluminum salts and related products

The invention is a clear, elastomer-free, gel composition comprising: (a) 0.1-25 weight % of an antiperspirant active having a low metal to chloride ratio in the range of 0.9-1.3: 1; (b) 9-23.95 weight % of one or more volatile silicones having a flash point of 100 degrees C or less; (c) 0.05-0.5 weight % of a silicone surfactant having an HLB value&lE;8; (d) 30-70 weight % water; (e) 0-50 weight % selected water soluble organic solvents; and (f) 0-10 weight % of an emollient; wherein the composition is a liquid gel having a viscosity in the range of 5-50,000 centipoise and a ratio of oil phase to water phase in the range of 10:90 to 24:76.
