The invention relates to a method and apparatus for optimizing an extracorporeal blood treatment using an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus with a device for optimizing the extracorporeal blood treatment, and a computer program to be executed on a processor for carrying out a method for optimizing the extracorporeal blood treatment. The method and apparatus are characterized in that at least one machine-specific treatment parameter for carrying out the treatment using the respective dialyzer or filter is determined with a computing unit for different types of dialyzers or filters. The computing unit determines the costs resulting from the determined machine-specific treatment parameters when using the respective dialyzer or filter. The determined costs for different types of dialyzers or filters are then displayed on a display unit. The doctor can then select the dialyzer or filter to keep the costs as low as possible.

Method and apparatus for optimizing an extracorporeal blood treatment

A welding boat for a pouch has a center part and two prolongations extending therefrom in opposite directions and tapering acutely. The welding boat has an opening for the filling of the pouch with a substance in manufacture and inlets and outlets for the actual use of the pouch. The center part is substantially filled by an opening with a lumen which is as large as possible and preferably circular, and the side edges of the side prolongations contact the opening tangentially.

The invention relates to a disposable element for a medical treatment device, especially a hemodialysis device. The inventive disposable element comprises a film bag filled with the dialysis liquid that consists of two superimposed flat films or a tubular film with connections for supplying and discharging the liquid. The film bag or the tubular film, in the condition ready for usage, is closed with a first weld on the top end and with a second weld on the lower end and is folded several times parallel to the longitudinal axis that is vertical in the condition ready for usage. The film bag is inserted in a receiving unit that is configured as a shaping dish that has a middle cylindrical section followed by an upper or lower convex section. The inventive disposable element, when combined with the receiving unit, unfolds more easily when being filled and has a lesser tendency to form creases.

A method and apparatus for the preparation of solutions to be manufactured from at least two concentrates and a solvent. After placing of two concentrate holders into associated recipients, both concentrate holders are connected using a single connector having two connection states. In a first connection state, solvent flows to the first concentrate holder, with the solution being led into a collection holder and, after the flushing of the concentrate from the first concentrate holder, the connector moves to a second connection state in which an automatic connecting of the second concentrate holder takes place, whereupon solvent flows through the second concentrate holder and the solution is likewise supplied to the collection holder.

The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of an electrolyte and acetic acid granulate for making a hemodialysis solution, the granulate comprising the electrolytes potassium chloride, calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, and the method comprising preparing the granulate and adding a desired quantity of acetic acid. The granulate, which is easy to process and has free flow capability, is made by crushing the electrolyte salts to a grain size of less than 0.5 mm and subsequently granulating the electrolyte salts in a dry gas atmosphere to a granulate having a grain size of 1 to 10 mm and a pore volume of more than 25 percent by volume. Subsequently, the acetic acid is added to the granulate, preferably by spraying.
