A method is described for characterization of the quality of a sialoglycoprotein via its isoform number I which is calculated from the isoform distribution of the capillary electrophoretic analysis of the sialoglycoprotein and represents a quality feature for the batch consistency, storage stability, biological half-life and the biological effectiveness of a therapeutic glycoprotein.
