The present disclosure relates to a transponder for object identification comprising at least one semiconductor component () for storing information and at least one antenna () for communicating the information with an external unit, the antenna () being formed by a conductor on a circuit board () and the semiconductor component () being mounted on the circuit board (), the circuit board () being included in a housing (), and it relates to a fabrication method of a generic kind. In order to improve the resistance of the transponder against harmful external influences, such as high temperatures, and to prolong its life cycle, the invention suggests that the semiconductor component () is included in an enclosure () that is hermetically sealed and fixed on a surface () of the circuit board.

Transponder for object identification and method for its fabrication

The present disclosure relates to a proximity sensor having a coil () for generating a magnetic field and a sensor circuit () for detecting variations of the magnetic field caused by an external object, the sensor circuit () comprising at least one semiconductor component () mounted on a circuit board (), wherein the coil () and the circuit board () are arranged in a housing () through which the magnetic field is transmittable. In order to improve the resistance of the proximity sensor against harmful external influences, such as high temperatures, and to prolong its life cycle, the invention suggests that the semiconductor component () is included in an enclosure () that is hermetically sealed and fixed on a surface () of the circuit board ().

Proximity sensor

An inductive proximity switch for detecting the presence of an object in a monitored area includes a coil (), a pulse source () for supplying the coil () with transmitting current pulses (S, S, S) at a period (T) larger than the duration (Ts) of the transmitting current pulses, and a processing circuit () for generating an output signal () based on received voltages (Ui, Ui, Ui) varying in dependence of a change of position of the object. The received voltages are induced in the coil () after the duration (Ts) of a transmitting current pulse by the decaying current which previously flows in the object due to the voltage induced therein by the coil. The proximity switch has a suppression circuit () for suppressing a signal duration lower than a predetermined perturbation time (Tc, Tc) in the output signal ().

Inductive proximity switch

An optical sensor system comprises one or more optical sensor devices, a master device and an electrical bus connecting the sensor devices to the master device. The bus comprises a signal daisy chain for the transmission of synchronization events. The sensor devices are adapted to detect a synchronization event at a signal input terminal, to time an optical activity based on this synchronization event and to provide at a signal output terminal a synchronization event delayed by an offset time with respect to the detected synchronization event. A property of the synchronization events provided by the sensor devices is indicative of an output value of the respective sensor device, corresponding to a state of an optical section to which the sensor is sensitive. Diodes are connected between the signal output terminals of the sensor devices and a signal line of the bus, which is connected to a signal input terminal of the master device, so that the latter receives the synchronization events from the sensor devices. The master device comprises means for extracting the output values of the sensor devices from these synchronization events. A sensor device for such a system comprises an enclosure of cuboid outer shape adapted to be mounted to a mounting rail so that the longitudinal direction of the rail is perpendicular to lateral sides of the enclosure. An electrical connector with the signal input and output terminals and with power supply terminals is arranged at a side connecting the lateral sides of the enclosure. Bus segments are provided for connecting the sensor devices to the system bus.

The gear unit for use with a manually adjustable electric component has a manually operable adjusting shaft and a reduction gear including a rotatable ball cage and a plurality of balls as well as a race ring element having a spring and retaining portion that encircles the race ring externally. Such a gear unit allows greatly reduced dimensions and furthermore offers a considerable dielectric strength.

The invention relates to an inductive proximity sensor for embedding in a mild steel mounting plate, comprising an enclosure with a front wall of synthetic material forming a sensing face at a front end of the enclosure, an oscillator comprising a sensor coil with a core made of a material with a relative magnetic permeability larger than 1, typically a ferrite, which is arranged within the enclosure behind the front wall so that an open side of the core is directed towards the sensing face in order to direct the magnetic field of the coil towards a target in front of the sensing face, a hollow cylindrical metal member arranged perpendicular to the sensing face and surrounding the core, and a measuring circuit for measuring an attenuation of the oscillator due to eddy currents. The core is radially surrounded by a metal layer with a low electrical resistivity of less than 15 &#x3bc;&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm and with a thickness of less than 40 &#x3bc;m, in order to improve the embeddability of the sensor. Alternatively, this thin metal layer may be omitted, if the electrical resistivity of the metal member is adjusted to a value in the range of 15 &#x3bc;&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm-50 &#x3bc;&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm.

Inductive proximity sensor for embedded mounting and method of design

A rope position sensor for the surveillance of the position of the traction or carrying rope of a transport installation on a grooved pulley comprises an inductive distance measuring unit capable of emitting an alternating magnetic field and of detecting the attenuation of that magnetic field by the presence of the ropein a proximity zone. The sensor is adapted to detect the rope in at least three proximity zones (zzz) and to produce an output signal containing information indicating the proximity zone in which the rope is being detected to indicate the position of the rope at the pulley.

The invention relates to a cable gland. The latter comprises a gland body for feeding a cable therethrough, an elastic sealing ring that is applicable to the front side of the gland body and whose internal diameter essentially corresponds to the diameter of the cable, and a gland ring that is applicable to the sealing ring on the opposite side of the gland body and is maintained by connecting means in an assembled condition at such an axial distance from the gland body that the sealing ring is clamped between the gland ring and the gland body so that its radially inner surface is pressed against the cable. These connecting means form a snap-on connection that is closable for the assembly of the cable gland by axially pushing together the gland ring and the gland body and that connects the gland ring and the gland body undetachably in their closed condition. A preferred field of application are encapsulated sensors having an enclosure into which a connecting cable is guided through a gland body of a cable gland that passes through the enclosure wall.

The low noise light receiver comprises a light sensor for generating a sensor signal, the sensor signal comprising a wanted signal resulting from a light source and an interfering signal resulting from interfering light; an optical filter apparatus for reducing the interfering light; an electric filter apparatus connected to the light sensor for filtering out the interfering signal and for generating a correction signal that substantially compensates for the interfering signal; and a processing apparatus connected to the light sensor and the electric filter apparatus for processing the wanted signal in order to generate an output signal (V).

Low noise light receiver

The antenna and the electronic control circuit of the transponder are contained in a totally hermetical metallic enclosure. The antenna of the reader is protected from the environment by a metallic front plate that is integral with the enclosure containing the electronic control circuit. In a preferred embodiment, the enclosure is hermetically tight. These embodiments fulfill the longstanding need to obtain completely tight elements that are resistant to industrial aggressions.

Reader and transponder in enclosures

The optical distance detecting or measuring device comprises a light source with an emitting optic for projecting a light beam according to the axis of the emitting optic onto a target to be measured and a first detector defining the receiving axis contained in the same reference plane as the emitting axis. The device comprises at least a second detector that is aligned with the first detector on an axis contained in a plane that is inclined at an angle &#x3b1; with respect to the reference plane, said angle being comprised between 10&#xb0; and 170&#xb0;. Alternatively, two emitters may be arranged in an inclined plane and one receiver in the reference plane. This arrangement allows a significant improvement of the performance of such a device.

Optical distance measuring device

Photoelectric proximity switch for detecting the presence of an object in a monitored area. A light pulse transmitter emits transmitting light pulses into the monitored area. The pulses are triggered by an output signal of a random signal generator or a pseudo-random signal generator and are emitted with a time interval between them. A light receiver is arranged in relation to the light pulse transmitter and to the monitored area such that in the absence of an object to be detected in the monitored area, the receiver receives essentially no light from the light pulse transmitter, but in the presence of an object to be detected in the monitored area, it receives such light from the light pulse transmitter due to reflection that a receiving signal evaluating device connected to the light receiver and to random signal generator or the pseudo-random signal generator delivers an object detection signal.

Photoelectric proximity switch

The optical device comprises an emitter optic for projecting a light beam onto an object, and a receptor optic for projecting the reflected light onto a detector. The emitter optic and the receptor optic each comprise a dome disposed in such a manner that the light beam passes through the dome in a plane which is parallel to the plane surface of the dome. This allows a very compact design which is particularly suitable for reflection detectors of small dimensions.

Optical device

The device for the measurement of distances and of the angle of incidence of a light beam comprises an optical emitting system in order to project the light beam onto the object to be measured, and an optical receiving system in order to project the reflected light onto position detectors. The optical receiving system comprises two prisms which refract the reflected light beam with an angular compression and expansion, respectively, thus allowing to reduce the dimensions and the sensitivity of a detector for the measurement of a given measuring range.

An inductive proximity switch is provided which comprises a coil, means for supplying the coil with periodic transmitting current pulses, and means for processing signals which correspond to voltages induced in said coil after the end of a transmitting current pulse by the decaying current which previously flows in the detected body due to the voltage induced therein by the transmitting current pulse. In order to improve the robustness of the proximity switch so that it is suitable for durable use in an aggressive environment, the coil, the means for supplying the coil with a periodical transmitting current, and the signal processing means are arranged in a cylindrical housing which is closed on the side of the active surface of the proximity switch and consists of a metal which is not ferromagnetic and whose specific electric resistance is relatively high.
