The present disclosure concerns managing mobility and emergency handling by receiving a mobility message from a second entity for managing access and mobility, wherein the mobility message carries a data network identifier for an IP connectivity; determining that the data network identifier in the received mobility message is an emergency data network identifier, based on emergency data network identifiers contained in emergency configuration data with which the first entity for managing access and mobility is configured; and determining that the IP connectivity is established for an emergency service.

Methods, entities and computer readable medium for emergency handling

Systems and methods are described for redirecting a user equipment with a routing misconfiguration. An exemplary method includes detecting a potential misconfiguration associated with the user equipment or a subscriber identity module (SIM) associated with the user equipment and generating an error code indicating the potential misconfiguration associated with the user equipment of the SIM associated with the user equipment. The error code is transmitted to an authentication module and indicates that the misconfiguration is an incorrect routing identifier and includes additional user information.

The present disclosure provides methods for providing network slice bit rate information and enforcing bit rate limitations. An exemplary method provides for receiving a network slice identifier identifying a network slice and corresponding network slice bit rate information (NS-BRI) for the identified network slice. The NS-BRI comprises i) first maximum bit rate information (MBRI) specifying a first maximum bit rate for the network slice and the user equipment, and/or ii) first guaranteed bit rate information (GBRI) specifying a first aggregate guaranteed bit rate for the network slice and the user equipment.

The present disclosure relates to supporting provisioning of a User Equipment (UE) with credentials to access a communication network, such as a Standalone Non-Public Network (SNPN). A credential server stores a binding associating UE device information, including an onboarding identifier, with network information for the SNPN. The credential server receives, from a network function in an onboarding network, a request for authentication of the UE that includes the onboarding identifier. The credential server responds with a message comprising the network information bound to the device information to enable provisioning of the credentials to the UE.

During PDN connection establishment in the EPC, a UE and a session management entity (SME) (e.g., PGW-C+SMF) exchange information. A method by a core network node of a core network of a wireless communication system for authenticating a user equipment, UE, to the core network includes receiving a first authentication request to authenticate the UE to the core network, determining that the UE should be authenticated by an external authentication entity that is external to the wireless communication system, transmitting a second authentication request to the external authentication entity, the second authentication request identifying the UE, receiving an authentication response from the external authentication entity verifying authenticity of the UE, the authentication response including a master key, and deriving a first key for securing communications with the UE from the master key.

The method includes receiving, at an Access and Mobility Management function entity (AMF), a registration request message transmitted by a user equipment (UE), wherein the registration request message comprises a list of PDU sessions to be activated; and, in response to receiving the registration request message, the AMF transmitting to a session management function (SMF) a request message for requesting the SMF to activate UP resources for at least one of the PDU sessions identified in the list of PDU sessions.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for counting registered User Equipments (UEs) in a network slice service area. In one embodiment, a method performed by an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) in a core network of a cellular communications system comprises receiving a registration request from a UE and, responsive to receiving the registration request from the UE, initiating a registration procedure and determining whether the registration request received from the UE is applicable for update of counting for a respective network slice to be used by the UE. The method further comprises sending, to a Network Function (NF) that maintains a count of a number of UEs that are using the respective network slice, a message that causes an update to the count of the number of UEs that are using the respective network slice.

A method for notification control in a communication system performed by a core network is presented. The method comprising: establishing a PDU session; enabling a radio access network, RAN, to send a notification that notifying a UE, of the unfulfillment or re-fulfillment of QoS, for a QoS Flow in the PDU session using an AN-signaling based notification. The AN-signaling based notification including the unfulfillment or re-fulfillment of QoS parameters as defined in a QoS Flow description. The AN-signaling based notification further including expected QoS figures, an expected time interval and an accuracy of the notification. The UE/AF may further adapt their behavior according to the expected QoS provided by the AN.

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for implementing mobile terminating call. According to an embodiment, a subscriber management node obtains, from a mobility management node, an indication that indicates whether a packet switching (PS) connection is currently active for a terminal device. The subscriber management node receives, from a server, a first query about whether a PS access domain is to be used for a terminating call to the terminal device. The subscriber management node sends a response to the server based on the obtained indication.
