An injection system for an intraocular lens (IOL) utilizes a folding device for the IOL. The folding device comprises a pair of co-acting winglets pivotable between an open position and a closed position, and together defining a hinge axis and a receptacle for the IOL. Each winglet has an outwardly extending, unitary leg portion defining a base plane that includes the hinge axis and a motion limiting protuberance on each said leg portion extending from the base plane. The base planes are situated at an angle relative to one another and the protuberances abut one another when the winglets are in the open position. The base planes merge into a single plane when the winglets are in the closed position.

Folding device and injector system for intraocular lenses

The invention relates to a lens case () for accommodating an intraocular lens, IOL (). The lens case () comprises a lens case body () and a sliding element () which can slide on the lens case body from a first position to a second position. The lens case body () comprises a longitudinal recess (), having a first part () and a second part (), the first part () being adapted to receive a side zone of the IOL () comprising at least one haptic (), the second part () being adapted to receive a narrower central zone of the IOL (). The sliding element () comprises a bolt () arranged adjacent a loading port () of the second part () of the recess () for displacing the IOL () within the recess ().

Lens case and lens delivery system

A preloaded injector for storing and injecting hydrophobic intra ocular lenses (IOL) comprises a plunger (), an injector body (), an adapter (), a rotatable member (), a cartridge () with a nozzle tube () and a stopper (). The rotatable member () is provided around the cartridge () for setting the cartridge () from an open position to a closed position. The rotatable member () is furnished with a portion interfering with a portion of the stopper () keeping the stopper () irremovable in its first position but releasing the stopper () in its second position.
