At least three acoustic filters circuits FC are arranged on a single chip CH. At least two of them are electrically connected already on the chip for multiplexing. This reduces space consumption and leads to smaller device size.

Single substrate multiplexer

A front end module has two signal paths for operation in two different frequency ranges which can be operated both with one antenna in the multiplex operating mode and with two antennas in a second operating mode. The respective operating mode is actuated via corresponding contact being made with the module substrate, and therefore by the user.

A circuit arrangement for a mobile radio device includes a first transmission path for a first communication system with TDD duplex operation and a second transmission path for a second communication system with FDD duplex operation. The first transmission path contains a first transmission filter and the second transmission path contains a first duplexer. The first and second communication systems use transmission frequency bands that are arranged within the same octave. A transmitted signal from the first communication system can be routed switchably and thus either via the first or the second transmission path.

An electrical circuit includes an antenna connection for receiving a signal, a first signal path connected to the antenna connection, a filter arranged in the first signal path, and a first and a second gate circuit connected in series. The first gate circuit is connected to the antenna connection, and the second gate circuit is arranged between the first gate circuit and the filter. The first and second gate circuits each includes an impedance transformer arranged in the first signal path and a shunt circuit connected to ground. A functional block of a front-end circuit for a communication device, which is employed for multi-band and/or multi-mode operation, is proposed. By positioning, according to this invention, a pin diode switch in one of the parallel signal paths instead of positioning it on the input side before separating the signal paths, it is possible to do without an impedance transformation network on the input side and to thus reduce the signal loss and the space requirement of the circuit. In a further configuration, the signal paths preferably associated with the adjacent frequency bands are combined on the output side, whereby the further processing of the signals corresponding to the different frequency bands takes place in one path. This for example allows a chip set designed for (n&#x2212;1) frequency bands to be used in a transmission system designed for n bands. Another embodiment of this invention enables monitoring of the received signal of a system even during operation of the other mode in a multi-mode system. Stable electrical properties of the circuit can be achieved according to this invention through integration of all components of the front-end circuit in one module.

Front-end circuit for wireless transmission systems

A front-end circuit is provided for a communication terminal device that is designed for a multi-band and/or multi-mode operation. Various embodiments are provided that are suitable for mobile radiotelephone devices of the third generation and, in particular, for transmission systems according to the UMTS standard upon involvement of a multi-band GSM system.
