A diagnostic device adapted to retain a fluid sample to be analyzed until it is desired to initiate the analytical test is described. The device includes a deformable material layer, a well for holding a fluid sample, a porous material and a diagnostic assay element.

Diagnostic assay device

A hand-held portable diagnostic assay system for conducting and recording luminescent reactions for generating and recording luminescent read-out signals generated by a testing assembly and recordable on an image recording medium. A carrier assembly receives the testing assembly and is operable between first and second conditions. An assembly prevents unintended insertion of the testing assembly into the carrier assembly when in the first condition, and a mechanism prevents unintended removal of the testing assembly from the carrier assembly when in the second condition.

Apparatus for performing diagnostic testing

A diagnostic assay device comprising a housing assembly and an image recording material housed therein that is exposed by a luminescent read-out signal generated by a luminescent activity triggered in response to displacement of a liquid carrier assembly carrying an analyte of interest with a reservoir containing an assay solution.

Diagnostic assay system and method

A film cassette designed to receive photosensitive film in a light protective envelope and maintain lighttight integrity while removing the protective envelope includes means for bringing a light emitting enhancer screen into intimate contact with the photosensitive film during exposure to x-ray photography. The back of the photosensitive film may be brought into intimate contact with a film or sheet of specimen-containing radioactive or radiation generating material.

Photographic film units are disclosed which incorporate an anti-reflection layer comprising a matrix of silica having dispersed therein particles of a fluorinated polymer. Viewing of the image and/or photoexposure are effected through the anti-reflection layer.

Diffusion transfer film units and processes are disclosed wherein a silver transfer image is formed in an image layer separated from the silver halide emulsion by a layer containing carbon black. Inclusion of polyvinylpyrrolidone in the carbon black layer provides increased silver transfer density.
