An adapter is disclosed for mounting a tool on an oscillating drive having a drive shaft that can be driven to oscillate about its longitudinal axis, wherein the adapter is passed by a central opening, and has at its drive end at least one positive-locking element for positive connection with the tool, the positive-locking element having the shape of a regular polygon, or a plurality of positive-locking elements arranged on a circle concentric to the center axis, or a plurality of outwardly extending convex projections having rounded tips and being connected with neighboring projections via rounded concave lateral flanks, wherein the positive-locking elements on the drive end are configured for positive-locking connection with a matching positive-locking counter-element on the drive shaft, and wherein the adapter has a second receptacle on its tool end for effecting connection with a tool having a shape different from the first receptacle and being configured as a circle, or as a plurality of positive-locking elements arranged along a circle concentric to the center axis, or as plurality of outwardly extending convex projections with rounded tips and being connected with neighboring projections via rounded concave lateral flanks.

Adapter for mounting a tool on an oscillating drive

A cutting knife for a cutting tool for cutting through adhesive beads on glass panes of vehicles is disclosed having a cross section that is bent into a U-shape and comprises a first limb, configured as an attachment part, with a receiving opening for attachment to an oscillating drive, and a second limb that is configured as a cutting part and is joined via an intermediate part to the attachment part of the cutting knife. The intermediate part and the cutting part being shaped such that a distance exists in a radial direction between a center point of the receiving opening and at least one cutting edge. The cutting part has, in a middle region between its outer free end and its angled transition to the intermediate part, a width that is greater than the width at the transition.

Cutting knife for cutting through adhesive beads on glass panes of vehicles

The invention describes a cutting knife for a cutting tool for cutting through adhesive beads on glass panes of vehicles, having a cross section that is bent into a U-shape and comprises a first limb, configured as the attachment part, with a receiving opening for attachment to an oscillating drive, and a second limb that is configured as the cutting part and is joined via an intermediate part to the attachment part of the cutting knife, the intermediate part and the cutting part being shaped such that a distance exists in the radial direction between the center point of the receiving opening and at least one cutting edge. The cutting part has, in a middle region between its outer free end and its angled transition to the intermediate part, a lesser width than at the transition and at the outer end. This results in a reduced susceptibility to breakage.

A cutting tool for separating beads of adhesive, with a U-shaped cross-section consisting of two flanks connected by a web. One flank is a sickle-shaped blade and the other is employed to attach the tool to an oscillating driveshaft. The center of curvature of the sickle shape extends toward the point at which the cutting tool is secured. The web between the tensioning shank and the blade may have ridges. These ridges extend to the sides of the tensioning shank and blade. The web is longitudinally curved between the tensioning shank and the blade, and has round edges.
