The invention relates to a method of producing a substantially aqueous pigment dispersion substantially free from an organic binder comprising mixing at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible silane compound and colloidal silica particles to form silanized colloidal silica particles in an aqueous dispersion whereby said at least one silane compound is mixed with colloidal silica particles in a weight ratio of silane to silica of from about 0.2 to about 1.5, mixing said silanized colloidal silica particles with an organic and/or inorganic pigment, wherein the weight ratio of silica to pigment is from about 0.001 to about 0.8 to form said substantially aqueous pigment dispersion. The invention also relates to an aqueous pigment dispersion obtained from the method defined herein.

Pigment dispersion

The invention relates to a method of preparing an aqueous detergent dispersion comprising mixing at least one silane compound, colloidal silica particles, and a detergent to form an aqueous detergent dispersion comprising silanized colloidal silica particles. The invention also relates to a dispersion obtainable by the method and to the use thereof.

Detergent composition

The present invention relates to a method of preparing a composition comprising mixing a silica sol having an S-value from about 5 to about 50% and a mineral acid. The invention also relates to a composition obtainable by the method and a composition comprising a network of silica particles and mineral acid, wherein the silica particles have a particle size of from about 2 to about 7 nm. The invention also relates to the use of the composition as a gelled electrolyte.

Composition prepared from silica sol and mineral acid

The invention relates to a method of producing an aqueous dispersion comprising mixing at least one silane compound and colloidal silica particles to form silanized colloidal silica particles, mixing said silanized colloidal silica particles with an organic binder to form the dispersion. The invention also relates to a dispersion obtainable by the method, and the use thereof.

Aqueous dispersion

The invention relates to a method of producing a stable substantially aqueous silanized colloidal silica dispersion having a silica content of at least about 20 wt %, comprising mixing at least one silane compound and colloidal silica particles, wherein the weight ratio of silane to silica is from about 0.003 to about 0.2. The invention also relates to a dispersion obtainable by the method, and to a stable substantially aqueous silanized colloidal silica dispersion having a silica content of at least about 20 wt %, wherein the weight ratio of silane to silica is from about 0.003 to about 0.2. The invention further concerns the use of the dispersion for coatings applications and as an additive.

Colloidal silica composition

The invention relates to the use of a composition for injection grouting obtainable by mixing an alkali metal silicate or an organic silicate, colloidal silica particles, and at least one gelling agent, wherein the weight ratio of colloidal silica to silicate is from about 2:1 to about 100:1. The invention also relates to a method of sealing a leaking part or cavity, and method of cutting off a liquid flow in a leaking part or cavity. The invention further relates to a composition for injection grouting and a method for preparing such composition.

Injection grouting

The invention relates to an aqueous silica-based sol comprising a nitrogen-containing organic compound and silica-based particles with a specific surface area of at least 300 square meters per gram of silica. The invention further relates to a process for the production of an aqueous silica-based sol comprising a nitrogen-containing organic compound which comprises incorporating a nitrogen-containing organic compound into a silica-based sol containing silica-based particles with a specific surface area of at least 300 square meters per gram of silica. The invention also relates to the use of an aqueous silica-based sol comprising a nitrogen-containing organic compound and silica-based particles with a specific surface area of at least 300 square meters per gram of silica as a flocculating agent in the production of pulp and paper and in water purification. The invention further relates to a process for the production of paper from an aqueous suspension containing cellulosic fibres, and optional fillers, which comprises adding to the suspension (i) an aqueous silica-based sol comprising an organic nitrogen-containing compound and (ii) at least one charged organic polymer, forming and draining the suspension on a wire.

Process for the production of paper using silica-based sols

A method for sealing rock or soil comprising inserting a sealing composition obtained by mixing a silica sol and at least one gelling agent, wherein the silica sol has an S-value higher than about 72%, a method for preparing the sealing composition and the composition obtained from the method.
