A radial piston pump has a pump housing containing pump elements and whose high-pressure conduits extending in the pump housing are embodied so as to significantly increase the permissible operating pressures.

Radial piston pump for fuel injection system having improved high-pressure resistance

The pump has a body including at least a fuel compression chamber and an actuating chamber enclosing the actuating members of the pump. The on-off valve has a shutter sliding inside a hole in the body to close a fuel feed conduit. The shutter is held in the closed position by a compression spring, which rests directly or indirectly on a shoulder in the hole. In one embodiment, the spring rests on the shoulder via a perforated disk held by a retaining ring, which clicks removably inside an annular groove in the hole. In a further embodiment, the spring rests directly on the shoulder.

The invention relates to a radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel supply, having a drive shaft supported in a pump housing. A plurality of pistons are disposed radially with respect to the drive shaft in a respective cylinder chamber; the pump housing includes a housing base body, in which the drive shaft is supported, and one housing head for each piston. The housing head has a through opening that extends radially to the drive shaft and a bush that serves to receive the piston is shrink-fitted into the through opening bush.

Radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel supply

Disclosed is a piston pump having a pump housing with a cylinder head comprised of a first plate and a second plate. The plates which rest against each other and are screwed to the pump housing, have a first conduit which carries low-pressure fuel and leads to a first check valve disposed between the two plates. The check valve communicates with a cylinder chamber of the radial piston pump. A second conduit carrying high-pressure fuel leads from this cylinder chamber to a second check valve, which is disposed between the first plate and the pump housing. Seals that are appropriate to the load, in fact low-pressure seals, are provided in the region of the cylinder head that is subjected to low pressure and high-pressure seals are provided in the region of the cylinder head that is subjected to high pressure.
