A sheathing arrangement for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes at least one sheathing element () with a sheathing element shell (). On an inner side () of the sheathing element shell () insulation material () overlaps the inner side () in at least some areas. The inner side is to be positioned facing toward a component of an exhaust system (), which component is to be sheathed. The insulation material () is fixed to the sheathing element shell () by means of at least one fastening element () passing through the sheathing element shell () and the insulation material ().

Sheathing arrangement and process for manufacturing a sheathing arrangement for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

A mixer assembly unit, especially for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes a mixer body () with an incoming flow side () and with an outgoing flow side (); and a carrier element () with a carrier element body () enclosing the mixer body () radially on an outside in relation to a mixer longitudinal axis. The mixer body () includes a plurality of flow deflection elements () and at least one holding area (). The carrier element () includes a counter holding area () in association with a holding area (). The counter holding area () is connected in substance to the holding area (). The counter holding area () overlaps the holding area () at least partly radially on a side oriented in a direction of the outgoing flow side () of the mixer body ().

Mixer assembly unit

A mixer assembly unit, especially for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes a mixer body () with an incoming flow side () and with an outflow side () and with a plurality of flow deflection elements (). A carrier area () is provided radially outwards in relation to a mixer longitudinal axis (L) at the mixer body (). The carrier area () has an exhaust gas guide element connection area () for permanent connection to a preferably tubular exhaust gas guide element (). Radially outside of the exhaust gas guide element connection area (), a flange coupling section () couples with a flange coupling section () of another exhaust gas guide element ().

An exhaust system includes a mixer assembly unit () with a mixer body () with an incoming flow side () and with an outflow side () and with a plate shaped carrier element () with a radially outward carrier element body (). The mixer body includes a plurality of flow deflection elements () and a holding area (). The carrier element includes a counter-holding area () connected in substance to a holding area. The mixer assembly unit is arranged in a junction area of two tubular exhaust gas guide elements (). The exhaust gas guide elements include flange shaped coupling sections. The carrier element body is arranged between the flange shaped coupling sections of the exhaust gas guide elements. A coupling element engages the flange shaped coupling sections and extends over the coupling sections on axial sides oriented facing away from one another radially inwards.

Exhaust system and mixer assembly unit for an exhaust system

An exhaust system, especially for an internal combustion engine in a vehicle, includes at least one sensor carrier unit () carried on an exhaust gas-carrying element (). The sensor carrier unit () includes a sensor carrier element () fixed to the exhaust gas-carrying element (). A plurality of sensor pipe connections (), that are fitted or can be fitted with sensors, are provided on the sensor carrier element (). The plurality of sensor pipe connections () each have at least one respective sensor-mounting/measuring opening () formed therein.

Exhaust system

A pipe (), carrying exhaust gas, of an exhaust system () of an internal combustion engine (), with a tubular body () carrying exhaust gas, and with at least one attachment part () separate with respect to the tubular body (), which is added laterally to the tubular body () so that externally on the tubular body () a cavity () is arranged delimited at least partially by the attachment part (), which extends in the circumferential direction () of the tubular body () over less than 360&#xb0;.

Exhaust pipe

A silencer, particularly rear silencer, for an exhaust system of a combustion engine, particularly of a motor vehicle, has a housing in which an outlet chamber is located. An outlet pipe arrangement leads out of the housing which on the inlet side is fluidically connected to the outlet chamber. A particularly compact design can be realized if the outlet pipe arrangement is configured as pipe-in-pipe arrangement including at least one deflection pipe closed on one side and arranged in the housing and an outlet pipe led out of the housing.

Silencer

A silencer for an exhaust system, more preferably of a motor vehicle, is provided with a silencer insert arranged in a silencer housing. The silencer includes a jacket, with at least one pipe section penetrating a through-opening of the jacket. Through welding of the pipe section to the silencer insert a weld seam formed pressure-tight between pipe section and jacket is relieved of mechanical load.

Vehicle silencer

An exhaust muffler () is provided for an at least partly dual-flow exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, especially of a motor vehicle. The exhaust muffler has a housing (), which encloses an interior space (), with two exhaust pipes (), through which exhaust gas can flow in parallel, and which are each led through the interior space (), and which have a side opening () each within the housing (). A neck body () connects the two side openings () of the exhaust pipes () in a communicating manner to form a Helmholtz resonator with the interior space () of the housing (), which interior space () acts as a resonance volume (). An embodiment, which has an especially compact design and can be manufactured at a low cost, is obtained when the neck body () has two plate-shaped longitudinal walls (), which are in contact each with the two exhaust pipes () and which define a neck volume (), into which the side openings () of the exhaust pipes () open, and which is open towards the resonance volume ().
