An assembly for cleanout of scale buildup from a wall of a hydrocarbon well. The assembly is configured to be deployed and operated under pressure without the requirement of coiled tubing to deliver cleanout fluid. The assembly may include a plug for sealing against the wall of the well immediately above the location of scale buildup. A cleanout tool, such as a jetting nozzle may be coupled to the downhole side of the plug. Thus, fluid and pressure may be provided to the well uphole of the plug. In this manner, the plug may direct the fluid to the jetting nozzle to achieve cleanout of the scale buildup.

Scale removal assembly

A cable assembly for use in a hydrocarbon well of extensive depth. The cable assembly may be effectively employed at well depths of over 30,000 feet. Indeed, embodiments of the assembly may be effectively employed at depths of over 50,000 feet while powering and directing downhole equipment at a downhole end thereof. The assembly may be made up of a comparatively high break strength uphole cable portion coupled to a lighter downhole cable portion. This configuration helps to ensure the structural integrity of the assembly in light of its own load when disposed in a well to such extensive depths. Additionally, the assembly may be employed at such depths with an intervening connector sub having a signal amplification mechanism incorporated therein to alleviate concern over telemetry between the surface of the oilfield and the downhole equipment.

Extended length cable assembly for a hydrocarbon well application

A cutting tool for cutting a wireline, slickline, coiled tubing, or other well access line stuck downhole in a well. The tool includes a host of features including a propulsion mechanism to aid in delivering the tool to a predetermined cut location of the line. In this manner, the risk of unintended uphole cutting of the line may be minimized.

Downhole well access line cutting tool

A downhole tool for measuring a diameter of a borehole that includes a mandrel and a collet is disclosed. The collet is disposed about the mandrel that includes a tapered surface formed on an outside surface of the mandrel that increases in diameter across a portion of the mandrel. The collet includes deflectable arm portions with a borehole engagement portion that are adapted to engage the borehole. The borehole engagement portions in-turn may then engage the tapered surface or the steps of the mandrel, such that the collet can move with respect to the mandrel. With this movement of the collet, the outer diameter of the collet may progressively decrease, thereby also decreasing the outer diameter of the downhole tool.
