A display panel () and a method for manufacturing a display panel () that includes a front side and a back side, the display panel () including a substrate having a plurality of electrical components provided on a front side of the substrate and integrated circuits connected to the plurality of electrical components, the integrated circuits being embedded in the substrate. A plurality of edge contacts () is also provided along edges of the substrate, where the plurality of edge contacts () is electrically connected with the integrated circuits. An electrically conductive layer () covers at least a part of the front side of the substrate and surrounds the plurality of electrical components, where the electrically conductive layer () does not physically contact the embedded integrated circuits and provides EMI shielding to different components of the display panel ().

A current control circuit for LED or OLED sub-pixels or pixels of an active matrix display is able to store bits or a bit of a control signal used to drive a pixel or sub-pixel, in a memory associated with each pixel or sub-pixel. The control circuit elements can be made compatible with thin-film processing such as to produce thin-film transistors.

A method and apparatus is described for producing high brightness, e.g. multicolor light, whereby a region of a wavelength conversion element and a light source producing excitation light are moved relative to each other so that said region is exposed to the excitation light at different times and in a progressive movement that scans across a part of the entire surface of the wavelength conversion element. The wavelength conversion element can be cooled by air or with a liquid.

A method and system are described for adjusting displaying of images to be displayed on a display system. The method is suitable for display systems comprising at least one hardware feature (f, f, f) influencing the display uniformity of the displaying of images, such as e.g. a defect pixel, seams, variations in positions of hardware components, etc. The method comprises obtaining pixelated image information to be displayed on a display system (), and adjusting the displaying thereof by applying a distributed variation correction signal to the displaying of the pixelated image information. Such a distributed variation correction signal thereby takes into account the at least one hardware feature (f, f, f) of said display system () so as to influence the perception of the display uniformity.

Reducing visibility of display errors

The present invention provides a display board () comprising an array of light emitting elements (), a driving means () for driving the light emitting elements () with image data, and an aging determination means (). The aging determination means () comprises one or more light emitting elements for emitting light representative of the light emitted by the light emitting elements () of the display board (), and at least one reference light emitting element () which, during use of the display board () is not driven. At the time of an intermediate calibration, the at least one reference light emitting element () is driven with calibration data and the light emitted by the reference light emitting element () is measured, as well as light representative of the light emitted by the light emitting elements. The difference between the light emitted by the at least one reference light emitting element () and the light representative of the light emitted by the light emitting elements is a measure for the degree of aging of the light emitting elements () of the array.

Aging compensation for display boards comprising light emitting elements

The present invention relates to a light emitting device assembly. Such a LED assembly comprises a plurality of lamp-type light emitting devices, each of said lamp-type light emitting devices having a light output side and side walls. The plurality of lamp-type light emitting devices are directly or indirectly connected to each other via said side walls. The latter allows to obtain a compact LED assembly with high brightness.

An optical system as subject of the present invention comprises at least one packaged spatial light modulator comprising a front side for facing incident light. The optical system further comprises projection optics for projecting an image formed by the packaged spatial light modulator, there being a sealed gas space in between the front side of the packaged spatial light modulator. The optical system comprises a first heat transporting means being thermally coupled to the frontside of the packaged spatial light modulator, the first heat transporting means comprising a thermally conductive frame contacting the front side of the packaged spatial light modulator along an edge thereof. A second heat transporting means being thermally coupled to the package back side may be provided as well. The first and second heat transporting means are thermally separated by the package. The device may further comprise a control means for controlling the heat flow in at least one of the first heat transporting means and the second heat transporting means.

Cooling of reflective spatial light modulating devices

A prism assembly including two or more prisms, at least one of which has or more surfaces that are used for total internal reflection or partial spectral reflection of incoming light, wherein at least a part of one of the surfaces used for reflection purposes is covered with an element that is spaced apart from the surface, such that a gap is defined in between the surface and the element, and wherein the gap is sealed with a seal that is applied on one of said prisms in order to prevent contaminants from entering the gap.
