A display system for a commercial vehicle, having a capturing unit for acquiring image data of the vehicle environment, a calculation unit and a display unit for displaying an image to be displayed with an image portion. The calculation unit is adapted to carry out a modification of the image data acquired by the capturing unit and to supply the modified image data to the display unit for display. The modification uses overlaying or superimposing of an overlay portion on the image portion of the image to be displayed, wherein the overlay portion is positioned within or directly adjacent to the image portion, and wherein the image portion further includes a measuring portion. An image characteristic of the image portion is acquired in the measuring portion. The calculation unit is adapted to determine an overlay portion characteristic dependent on the acquired image characteristic.

Display system for a vehicle, in particular commercial vehicle

A camera for use on vehicles, in particular commercial vehicles. The camera has a housing including a first accommodation portion and a second accommodation portion, an optical element disposed within the first accommodation portion, and a digital image capturing unit provided on a circuit board. The circuit board is disposed within the second accommodation portion. The housing is formed by a first part consisting of plastic and a second part which is vapor resistant.

The camera has a housing, at least one optical element disposed within the housing, a group of circuit boards disposed within the housing and including at least one circuit board. The group of circuit boards has at least one active circuit for executing a direct camera function. The camera further comprises at least one heating element adapted for heating the group of circuit boards, the optical elements, and/or the housing, wherein the at least one heating element is directly attached to one of the circuit boards of the group of circuit boards.
