Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a signal that is transmitted by a base station with a modulation signature associated with a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) or a repeater and redirected by the RIS or the repeater using modulation that reverses the modulation signature associated with the RIS or the repeater. The UE may decode the signal, wherein the signal is decodable by the UE based at least in part on the signal being redirected by the RIS or the repeater using the modulation that reverses the modulation signature associated with the RIS or the repeater. Numerous other aspects are described.

Efficient reconfigurable intelligent surface or repeater assisted communication

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for finite field parity for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook. A method that may be performed by a base station (BS) includes indicating, to a user equipment (UE), a codebook for uplink transmission of HARQ feedback, the codebook based on: (i) a number (M) of candidate downlink transmission occasions for a time period, and (ii) a maximum number (k) of downlink transmissions the UE can receive during the time period. The method also includes selecting an action to perform based on a set of codepoints of the codebook, the set of codepoints comprising: (i) a first combination of codepoints, and (ii) a second combination of codepoints different from the first combination, wherein HARQ feedback calculated from the first combination is equal to HARQ feedback calculated from the second combination.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for signaling quasi-coloration (QCL) information for demodulation reference signals (DM-RS) associated with multiple transmission-reception points (multi-TRP). An example method generally includes generating quasi-colocation (QCL) information indicating a first QCL assumption for a first group of demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) ports and a second QCL assumption for a second group of DM-RS ports; and transmitting the QCL information to at least one user equipment (UE) for use in processing one or more transmission associated with at least one of the first group of DM-RS ports and the second group of DM-RS ports.

A method generally includes determining channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) port groups associated with one or more non-zero power (NZP) CSI-RS resources for channel measurement (CM) or interference measurement (IM)(); transmitting an indication of the CSI-RS port groups to at least om UE(); generating quasi-colocation (QCL) information indicating QCL assumptions for the CSI-RS port groups(); and transmitting the QCL information to the at least one UE().

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications, and more specifically to random access procedures and/or prioritization of broadcast transmissions in machine type communications (MTC) devices and enhanced MTC (eMTC). An example method generally includes determining a plurality of subframes in which the UE may transmit a bundled random access channel (RACH) message to a base station (BS), determining, within the subframes, at least one narrowband region for transmitting the bundled RACH message, determining a bundling size for the bundled RACH message, the bundling size indicating a number of the plurality of subframes in which the bundled RACH message is transmitted, and transmitting the bundled RACH message in the narrowband region of the plurality of subframes, based at least in part on the determined bundling size.

Random access procedure and broadcast prioritization for machine type communications (MTC)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for scheduled communications in which multiple different communication instances are scheduled between a user equipment (UE) and a base station. Different communication parameters for different communication instances may be selected based on reported channel conditions between the UE and the base station. Subsequent to a report of channel conditions results in chanced communication parameters, the UE may blind decode a one or more scheduled communications using multiple candidate sets of decoding hypotheses to identify a first candidate set of decoding parameters that is used for the first scheduled communication. Such techniques provide that communication parameters may be adjusted based on channel conditions, and a UE may decode a communication in the event that the base station does not successfully receive a measurement report and continues transmissions using a prior set of parameters.

Techniques for multi-hypothesis reception for scheduled communications

Aspects of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for assigning one or more user equipments (UEs) at one or more corresponding starting positions of multiple slots to perform channel access procedures, such as listen before talk (LBT) procedures in New Radio unlicensed band (NR-U) sidelink communications. The network entity may indicate, to a UE, a starting position in a multi-opportunity grant (e.g., a DCI scheduling multiple slots). The network entity may multiplex different transmitter UEs with different starting positions. If the channel accessing procedure is successful, the transmitter UE with the earliest starting position than the rest may block the rest of the transmitter UEs. In some cases, starting position hopping may be used so that the multiple UEs may have different priority at different slots. In some cases, the DCI may include LBT parameters that are inherited from NR-U uplink transmission configurations.
